Fire, the Element
The element of fire governs the warmth of the world. In many of the characters of Ivalice, it also characterizes passion and anger. Those who represent this element are often thought to be quick tempered and frequently violent, although there are counts of those same people being passionate both in their actions and in their words.
- Fire is opposes and is opposed by the Water element.
- These spells have the chance to produce the Fire Effect.
Fire Spell Set
Tier 1 Fire Elemental Spell: Fire
The Fire spell is the most basic of spells for a Black Mage to learn. It is the first stepping stone to becoming a Legendary Black Mage. The Fire spell itself, as its name suggests, causes fire elemental damage. It is not a particularly powerful spell, but can be useful for setting foes on fire, or even to just keep warm on a cold night.

Tier 6 Fire Elemental Spell: Meteo
Thought to be the pinnacle of fire elemental magic, and quite possibly the most destructive spell in all of Ivalice, Meteo is a powerful spell. This spell, when cast upon a target, will bring down the flaming wrath of the heavens to not only crush but immolate anyone, or anything, unlucky enough to be in its falling path.
Unfortunately, with great power comes great consequences. The wrath of Meteo has been known to completely cripple a mage's casting power in a single utterance of its composition. This fact has made masters of it extremely rare outside of the monster races. Select mortals of the world have even banned its practice from the land, in fear that there are greater consequences behind its use. Divine consequences.
Obtaining Meteo
At present, there is no known or confirmed way to obtain this rare and powerful spell. It is thought that even at the dedication of learning this forbidden spell for lifetimes has proved nothing but failure. No mortals possess this ability, although the monsters of the world still tuned to the destructive force of fire know its secrets.
