| Zephius (14:05) | The airship churned, vibrated and throttled on at full speed as it rushed towards Doma. It was a rare occasion for Zephius, who was rarely seen without his bike. Here he was today, sitting on a bench as he awaits his destination with eyes closed. Doma loomed closer with every second and he was to fulfil a personal mission today that many have dreamnt but not dared... To find the legendary lost Caer Xhan.
| Zephius (14:11) | If one were to glance at Zephius's garb, none would have imagined that he would ever be a treasure hunter. In fact, Zephius was not one. His goal today was to seek out Caer Xhan where rumored there were weapons of great power hidden in the lost city. Zephius wanted to get stronger, if he was to have any influence in the up coming war, and especially power to deal with kailadan, the sword knight who worked for the enemy he once hated. As the green bulb lit up with a 'Ding', Zephius stood up and jumped out of the cargo door bidding his time as the wind blasted into his face. Zephius pulled the line which opened his parachute as he descended slowly onto the streets of Doma.
| Zephius (14:21) | Zephius released his parachute as he touched the ground, ignoring the stares from people as he headed for the gates. Despite trying to 'keep up with modern times', Doma was still relatively a nation in midst of revolutionising. Its people embraced swordsmanship over many things else like technology for example. Hence, this inhibits the growth of the nation's economy or it would be on par with Figaro. Hence Zephius could'nt blame the people for the inquisitive looks and curiousity that crowded on their faces as he passed.
| Zephius (14:26) | Zephius headed directly for the gates, having no need to stop by shops for provisions as he had prepared for two weeks supplies for the long journey ahead. To the west Zephius walked after exiting Doma, striking the paths that few have walked. Greenery ended to a halt at a certain point and Zephius stared in wonder at the sea of sands in front of him. The famed desert that claimed the lives of many would-be treasure hunters and explorers. It was rumored those who walked in never came out. However, Zephius was not one to fear so easily. He took a deep breath and walked into the desert.
| Zephius (14:29) | Zephius had no way of telling where is Caer Xhan is. He only had a compass and memories of tales from people who told him legends of the lost city. It seemingly was north of the desert in the tales told, passed down from generation to generation. Zephius consulted his wrist compass and after checking the directions, heading supposedy north, hoping to go in the right direction.
| Zephius (14:35) | Hours and hours he walked, passing nothing but an occasional scorpion or two, easily recognized by their tails sticking out of the sand. Sweats broke out as he walked, taking an occasional sip of water. AFter seemingly another hour, Zephius stopped and consulted his compass. His eyes widened at what he saw. The compass was spinning erratically! He hit the compass a few more times but it never ceased to stop spinning. Panicking, Zephius looked around him. The way north and south seemed lost now as everywhere around him was a sea of sand. Posing to calm himself down, he reckoned that at evening, he would soon know where east and west are by observing the direction of sunset. Noticing a large boulder nearby, Zephius resolved to stay under the boulder until sunset where he could determine his location.
| Zephius (14:38) | Sunset did really come after all and Zephius marked the direction the sunset, figuring out where north and south was once again. Deciding it was too dangerous to travel at night, he light a fire near the boulder, resolving to travel in daylight. That night, his meal was a quiet and interrupted one, except for the occasional scruffling in the sands nearby, made by some animal.
| Zephius (14:45) | Zephius found hismself dreaming a good dream that night, where he was lying on a comfy bed in the Drunken Dragon Inn and the soft and gentle breeze floats into his room. Weird enough, it seemed to pick up speed, roaring in sound and strength as he could feel the wind beating upon his face. His face was soon pelted with invisible objects that he could'nt see. Zephius could almost taste the sand in his mouth.. SAND?!? Zephius opened his eyes quickly in bewilderment as he stared infront of him. A huge gust of wind was coming in his direction picking up speed as sand whirled violently around it. Zephius then knew the choice he must make. To run away quickly as possible, or to be devoured by the sandstorm, or possibly torn apart. Grabbhing his duffelbag, Zephius ran as fast as he could in the other direction not even caring to look back.
| Zephius (14:52) | Zephius was sure that he could outrun the sandstorm with his speed or at least he thought so. The sandstorm seemed to be aiming for him, or playing cat-and-mouse. It grew tremendously in speed and size, becoming a deafening whirl. Though Zephius was trained in the power of elements, against nature itself, none can be victorous. Salvation came soon enough as he spotted a huge and worn metal pillar, unhinded by the fabrics of time. It stood there strong and sturdy, as if nothing could stand in its way. Zephius dashed towards it for cover. Drawing his katana, he plunged it into a small crack at the side of the pillar, using it for support as Zephius braced himself for the impact.
| Zephius (14:55) | Zephius flew up and would have been in the sky if it were not for the katana he held on tightly too as the wind picked up around him. He could feel his hands weakening as the wind seemed determined to grab him away. His strength faded. Zephius could only pray as he was swept away in the wind.
| Zephius (15:06) | Zephius saw and felt nothing at first as he opened his eyes groggily. Reaching out a hand, he touched the ground in front of him to feel the surroundings. Sand. Zephius opened his eyes and sat up. He was still in the middle of the desert and it was dark at night without a moon. Zephius looked around him. His katanas were missing and his duffelbag was nowhere to be found. Zephius cursed softly to himself. Without the duffelbag, it meant a loss of food and weapons and he might be stuck in the desert forever. Not wanting to feed his mind with this possibility, Zephius stood up groggily, clutching his left upper arm. His left arm seemed to be injured. Can't even raise an ounce of energy to think anymore, Zephius walked unsteadily on forwards. After walking for what to be seemed hours, Zephius came across a long standing object. He could not make out its shape in the dark but as he leaned against it, Zephius was certain it was not alive and probably metal. However, unable to think anymore, Zephius collapsed at the foot of the object and leaned against it, sleeping away.
| Zephius (15:17) | When Zephius opened his eyes again, he found out it was already daylight. The sun beat down mercilessly on him as he squinted his eyes. Zephius leaned against the object as he stood up and looked at it hard. Zephius was perplexed. Somehow he had arrived at the pillar again which he had clinged on to when the sandstorm went on a rampage. However, his katana was nowhere to be found and so was his duffelbag. Attempting to calm himself again, Zephius let out a string of curses as he glanced to the right and stopped. There, some distance ahead was another pillar. Zephius walked unsteadily towards it, his sand-filled short becoming lighter as he walked as sand escaped everywhere. Zephius observed the pillar carefully. It looked simliar to the previous one he was under, both having the same imcomprehensible archiac designs. Perplexed, Zephius looked to the north and spotted another pillar. As he walked towards it, he soon found another pillar beyond it.. and another. Zephius grew with excitement. These pillars, if he was correct in his haphazard guess, was his guide to Caer Xhan, the lost city!. Heavy with excitement, Zephius trotted on, following the pillars.
| Zephius (15:22) | The ancient city lay upon him in ruins as Zephius gaped in wonder. It was fitting to be called a lost city as there was nothing much to look at, except ruins of strange buildings that might have been splendour in days past thousands of years ago. Taking a deep breah, Zephius took a step forward and began to walk past the ruined remains of the ancient gates into the city.
| Zephius (20:18) | The empty city was quiet, except for the occasional sound of the breeze blowing through the air. Zephius however was not convinced. Danger would always be present no matter where you are, unless you're in a city. However, he was weaponless and without food. Even if he did find the ancient city, he wondered as to how he was going to get back. Shrugging, Zephius chose a direction and turned right, walking along a desolated pathway.
| Zephius (20:25) | The path revealed nothing but a worn and broken down doorway. Upon entering, Zephius found nothing to be of important. It might be an engineer's dream paradise but to him, it meant nothing. There was a white box covered with dust in the middle of the room with reflective lens. Zephius was curious to as what it was, however, it showed nothing. Beside it was a black board with rows of buttons on it. Behind the box was a large door. Zephius tried to push it but it did'nt budge. Deciding that this place was of no use to him, he turned to leave, unaware of a camera hidden on the ceiling tracking his every movement.
| Zephius (20:34) | Zephius took the other path at the entrance of Caer Xhan only to find barricaded homes and a continous pathway. However, one house still seems available for exploration. As he entered, Zephius realised it was not a house, but a shop of some kind. Screws, bolts and all kinds of junk littered the ceiling walls and floors of the shop. Weapons of every design, swords, guns, daggers and many more were shown laying in dust. Zephius really questioned himself if these were still of any use. His interested piped up as he saw a metal object standing behind the counter, looking all human-like. It was what the engineers called a robot. As Zephius neared it, it suddenly sprang to life and spoke in a high-pitch voice. "Welcome! Welcome! I...Bzzt.. Have'nt..bzzt had a single...bzzt customer in...forget..years. Bzzt. What...can..Bzzt..I..do...for you?"
| Zephius (20:45) | Zephius was amused. Apparently this robot have'nt lost its functions after so many years. He shrugged, "Ah just looking around." He turned to leave but the weapon called out, "Ah!Are those sheaths..Bzzt. Saw?Bzzt..need.Bzzt...weapon..Bzzt..got..bzzt" Suddenly the robot hit his head with a loud smack as it turned around 360 degrees as Zephius winced. As the head stopped spinning, it spoke again, "Ah! Much better. Are those weapon sheaths I see? Good, You'll need a weapon then, this place offers nothing but the best! Now.. lets see.. Rusted daggers, purple sword.. hmm all rusted. Super duper hammer,, handle broken, hmm." The robot turned behind him and started throwing weapons everywhere, as he dug around the boxes. Zephius was sent moving left and right to avoid the weapons flying his way. As he sidestepped to the right, Zephius caught a glint of metal in a corner of the right most area. It was a huge katana, designed intricately and looked sharped, undampened by rust or wear. Pointing at the katana, Zephius spoke loudly to interrupt the robot's concentration. "Whats that?"
| Zephius (20:57) | The robot looked up and in the direction Zephius pointed. It walked towards it and with an effort, took it from the wall and placed it down on the counter. It was metal katana with bolts, gears and mecahnisms. The blade, however looked sharp though. "The Mechanical katana? Ah it was a special order for a customer but heh, he never ever would come to collect it again. You would'nt have any interest in it." The robot declared. "On the contrary, I'll take it." Zephius grabbed the black handle of the katana. it was heavy and Zephius had to wield it with both hands. However, he soon got used to its weight and tried practicing swings with it. It became a part of him, an extension of his arm as he swung it around seemingly effortlessly. Turning to the robot, he nodded, "I like this katana. I'll take it."
| Zephius (21:08) | "That will be twenty thousand credits please! Noticing the blank look on Zephius's face he faltered, "Well, guessed I could let you have it for free. Not that I have customers around." Zephius grinned, "Thanks."As he turned and walked away, Zephius asked, "Oh yea, do you know the way out of the desert?". The robot piped up, "Follow me!" It opened a door behind him and entered the room. Following him, Zephius came face to face with the largest cannon he saw. He looked at the robot, his look signifying for an explanation. "Just climbed into the cannon and it'll take you to the beginning of the desert!" Zephius truely wondered if it was safe. At a shove from the robot, he climbed into it with his new katana strapped to his back, waiting for the inevitable. "Good luck. I hope you survive." Before Zephius could even reply, a loud "BOOM" was heard and he was sent plummeting into the air.
| Zephius (21:12) | As Zephius raced through the air, his mind wondered if he could gather the strength to cast a fly spell and whether he made the right choice in trusting the robot. Land appeared out of nowhere as Zephius hit the ground with a "OOF". He could almost feel his body screaming in pain from the impact. Struggling, he managed to stand up and looked around. He indeed was at the entrance to the shifting sands where grasslands was before him. Sighing, Zephius resolved to walk back to civilisation. "I need a bath." He muttered as he walked slowly back towards the nearest city, his goal achieved.

| Mon Jun 2 |
| Azelie (21:36) | The heat of Figaro was almost unforgiving, though the cold nights were even worse. Outside the stone halls, the Golden Dawn soldier was huddled in her coat, trying to keep warm. She was positioned at the top of one of the towers, gazing out as she tried to locate her targets. Everything seemed too calm, as if the doppelgangers dropped off the face of the earth. "Damn it already. Every single time... its wait wait wait wait, get my ass kicked, and wait some more." She muttered to herself, grumbling as she sipped on her once hot drink.
| Kailadan (21:42) | "I still haven't heard anything from Anatsol since we were back in Coneria. I wish I knew what the heck was going on." Kailadan stepped out onto the top of the same tower as Azelie, with a simple brown cloak wrapped around his person. "Nobody's apparently seen them dopplegangers, either. You'd think we were tricked or something, with the sudden lack of information."
| Azelie (21:43) | Simply giving a nod as she stared off into the horizon, Azelie shivered a bit. "Yeah, seems that way. I wonder if the kid was just trying to get us out of Coneria for some reason." She offered a drink towards the swordknight. "It may not be hot, but at least the spices and the alcohol will help warm ya up."
| Kailadan (21:46) | With a simple shake of his head, Kailadan stepped up next to Azelie, to get a better view of the desert. "I'm used to the cold, but thanks anyway. Seen anything interesting at all? The town itself is staring to bore me to tears."
| Zephius (21:47) | Zephius was at the weaponsmith shop, waiting patiently while the weaponsmith does the finishing touch on his katanas which were to replace the ones he lost on his journey to Caer Xhan. While was pleased at his two-handed katana, he still prefer to wield two katanas most of the time, having got used to the style. As the weaponsmith handed over the two katanas, Zephius examined them carefully and nodded in satisfaction. He handed over some gil for payment and walked out, sheathing his katanas in black sheaths at his waist.
| Azelie (21:49) | "Nothing at all captain. Just sand, maybe an oasis, and even more sand." She replied, looking towards the captain. "You know, something has been on my mind. Why did you join Golden Dawn in the first place?" She brushed some hair back from her face, giving a half-smile towards the man. "I mean, I can remember the days when we were talking about stopping Zethrayon."
| Kailadan (21:58) | "My position has never changed. I'm just using a different method. If I try and change everything from the outside, it'll only cause more troubles. From the inside, I have more control. I can see what's going to happen before it happens, and I can shift events more in my favor. All it costs me is a little bit of servitute to Zethrayon." Both Kailadan and Zethrayon are aware of the fact that they're using each other for their own goals. It was even said so during Kailadan's recruitment into the Golden Dawn. Their intentions are the same; to keep Coneria as one of the greatest cities in the world. They just have different methods.
| Azelie (22:01) | Listening to the words, all Azelie could do was nod, until it was over. "I see. I really do. A mutual benefit for both of you." She paused for a moment, took a swig of the drink, and turned away. "Me, I had no place to go. I could of went home, but I don't belong there. Besides, there's something I need to tell you." She paused, waiting for acknowledgement from her captain.
| Kailadan (22:05) | "Zethrayon is also the only person I know of that's mastered the dark sword... Needless to say, that's a goal I intend to eventually achieve as well." Folding his arms across his chest, Kailadan leans against the edge of the tower's edge. "Something to tell me, eh? Hope it's not that you intend to lure me out into the desert and kill me."
| Zephius (22:06) | Zephius reached the crossroads and looked around. Still, there were people around as life never changed, despite the world out there. It was not the city he would want to live if he was to settle down. Too noisy and life is too face paced to be tranquil. Glancing up, he thought it would be a good idea to sit up alone and enjoy himself to the wind and let his thoughts wild. With this goal in mind, Zephius start walking to the tower.
| Azelie (22:08) | "Oh, yeah. I teamed up with the doppelgangers so we can eat your face for dinner. That is all." Mockingly, the girl chuckled, but then started to get serious. "Actually, I finally thought it was time you really know the reason for... everything." She peered back towards the desert. "Is it really foolish to think that violence can eventually lead to peace?"
| Kailadan (22:14) | "Violence only leads to people wanting revenge against those that created the violence, itself. It's nothing more than a vicious circle... But unfortunately, some people will always take that path. It's in the nature of mortals to kill each other." Their was no hint of concern or regret in Kailadan's voice as he spoke. He had come to terms with the violent nature of the various races of Ivalice a long time ago. No sense in acting all surprised when somebody dies.
| Azelie (22:16) | "See, I thought that once. But in the end, that's the only way anyone is going to accomplish any sort of peace in this world. I used to think it was redemption for my follies. But now, all I think is about how my hands, as evil as it may sound, will one day bring peace." She sighed a bit, and just shrugged. "Oh well, to each their own. I guess the whole incident in Baron has me on edge really."
| Zephius (22:17) | Zephius reaches the tower and climbs up the stairs, grumbling at the long flight of stairs. He walks on though lightly as though his weapons and new duffel bag did not bother him. Zephius soon saw light on the top and climbed up more, standing in the doorway.
| Kailadan (22:22) | "Zethrayon essentially said the same thing, but I think you're both wrong. It won't be any of us that usher in an age of peace. We're too busy creating wars and causing bloodshed. Peace will be ushered in by somebody that uses methods other than war." Glancing over his shoulder to look to Azelie, the Sword Knight's blue eyes immediately fell upon another person that had entered the scene.
| Azelie (22:25) | "You never know Kailadan. You never know." Was all Azelie said, still peering the the horizon as she tried to make figures out in the darkness. "Anyways, I think we should go back to hunting for the doppelgangers. I think I might just make a trek out there, and see if I can find anything."
| Zephius (22:30) | Zephius was stunned nonetheless when he recognized who it was. Where ever he goes, he's sure to bump into people he knows. This was just one of another occasions. "Sorry. Hope I'm not disturbing anything. Just coming up here for some quietness." Zephius shrugged. "Did anyone mention doppelgangers by the way? Here in Figaro? Just asking out of concern. They are dangerous."
| Kailadan (22:34) | "Killing all others because they don't submit to your ideals doesn't create peace. It creates animosity. Those who live by the sword die by the sword, after all." Pulling his gaze from Zephius, the Sword Knight's attentions returns to the vastness of the desert once more. "I suggest we wait for Anatsol before we do anything about the dopplegangers. If you want to go hunting for them by yourself, then by all means, but you won't have anybody to blame if you get hurt but yourself."
| Azelie (22:37) | The girl shrugged and turned around to see the newcomer. "Honestly though, I'm thinking that if no one has seen anything out of the ordinary in Figaro, where else could they be, but somewhere around here?" She pondered for a moment, and then chimed back in. "But he did say something about someone making something magical. Perhaps they are attracted to something someone is researching?[x"
| Zephius (22:43) | Zephius wondered if his doppelganger was still around. If what Kailadan and Azelie said was true, his would still be somewhere around here. Somehow he felt responsible for not killing it, even if it was not his fault. Looking up, he blurted out, "You're here for the doppelgangers? So am I..?"
| Kailadan (22:44) | "Anatsol did say that they were attracted to something like that around here, but nobody seems to know anything about it that I talked to. We may as well as just take it easy 'til Anatsol arrives, honestly. If anything's going on around here, we obviously aren't going to find it by looking for it. May as well let it come to us." Leaning closer to the edge, Kailadan peered down at the ground below, even though their wasn't actually anything down there.
| Azelie (22:49) | The girl just gave a nod and stated "In that case, I'm turning in. I could use a nice warm bath anyways." She stood up and walked back inside, idly pushing the ninja to the side as she did. "And if Anatsol isn't here soon, I'm going to go mad."
| Zephius (22:53) | The ninja stepped aside as the mystic passed through. He knew the mystic's detest for his ways but there was no helping to it. Turning back, he looked at the sword knight. "Kailadan, I want to help defeat the doppelgangers too."
| Kailadan (22:55) | "That girl needs to learn to actually enjoy life. She's way too young to be caught up in all this mess...not that I have much room to speak. I'm not exactly an old fart." Snickering to himself as he stood upright once more, Kailadan's expression becomes more neutral as he turns to look to Zephius. "So what's stopping you?"
| Zephius (23:02) | "Being not in an organisation, its harder to locate them than being in one." Zephius looked at Kailadan in the eye as if his words convey some meaning, "I also feel responsible for my doppelganger to be created and therefore I must stop it. Furthermore, I've been asked by Anatsol to help you, believe it or not" The last part was'nt entirely true nor false. Anatsol had told him war was inevitable, to be ready for it as it come. The truth was that when it comes to that, Zephius would help defend Coneria as much as he could as it was'nt the instigator of war. And if he must work with kailadan, he would swallow his pride and do it. However, kailadan does not need to know that on a need to know basis.
| Kailadan (23:09) | "How do I keep getting put in charge of things? Now I've got two kids and a ninja to babysit, and I only volunteered to watch one of them." Kailadan was smirking as he was speaking, so he wasn't being all too serious. Although he wasn't entirely pleased with the situation, the Sword Knight was getting used to people putting him in charge of things. It seems that the doppleganger situation was no different.
| Zephius (23:13) | Zephius shrugged. "I can take care of myself in fights. Just that I'm here to lend another hand to your cause because I'm aware there are bigger things involved than gil."
| Kailadan (23:15) | "Oh? And what do you consider more important than gil, mister mercenary?" Once more, Kailadan's arms were folded across his chest as his sapphire eyes stayed fixed upon Zephius.
| Zephius (23:18) | Zephius narrowed his eyes, "People's lives of Coneria. Lives in Baron. Poverty, crime and famine are on the rise in Baron because of the war. When two countries clashed, its the civilians that suffer. And just for your info, I was'nt always a mercenary. I was a bounty hunter with a decent income until I was framed."
| Kailadan (23:23) | "Ha! Because a bounty hunter isn't just another gil chaser, like a mercenary." Dropping his arms to his sides, Kailadan takes a seat upon the edge of the tower. "I don't really trust you, Zephius. If Anatsol really sent you to help, then fine. I'll trust him. Just don't give me a reason to suspect you and we'll be fine."
| Anatsol (23:25) | "I didn't, actually." chimed a child's voice. Anatsol gradually climbs over the edge of the tower and plops down next to Kailadan. "How's it holding up?"
| Zephius (23:27) | "Its fine by me. You tried to attack me from behind during our first meeting, remember?" Zephius offers a grim smile as he looked at Kailadan in the eye. "Whatever you think it is, I was catching criminals for Coneria before the incident. In an informal way, I was already working for Coneria." He leaned against the wall and glanced at the new arrival, "Anatsol. You did, actually in a way. After telling me about the war, I already knew what I must do. Again, believe it or not, I'm on your side this time." Zephius raised up his hands as he spoke, signifying he had nothing to hide or against them.
| Anatsol (23:29) | "That sounds more like me telling you 'No', and you hearing 'Yes' to me. But hey, I don't care, overall. I'm not personally concerned about Coneria for the meantime. I've got more troublesome things to worry about." Anatsol said, looking up to Kailadan. "Speaking of, how are you sleeping?"
| Kailadan (23:31) | "I'm still up for a reason, Anatsol." Kailadan narrowed his eyes at the Artificer for just a moment before his attention returned to Zephius. "And that supposed attack upon you was me testing you, nothing more. If I had actually intended to do anything more than night, you wouldn't even be here right now."
| Anatsol (23:33) | "I agree. He could kick your butt." Anatsol said cheerily, raising his hand and waving slightly. "Sleep or no."
| Zephius (23:35) | Zephius chuckled at Anatsol's little comment. "That part is a little exaggerated. We'll have a rematch someday Kailadan, but not now. I suppose you want a little privacy, so I'll head to bed." Zephius turned and then walked towards the doorway, preparing to leave.
| Kailadan (23:40) | "Hope you have better dreams than I do, Zephius. I'll be waiting on that rematch. I haven't had a good duel in some time." Waiting for a couple moments, Kailadan eventually turned to face Anatsol. "I was wondering when you were going to show up. Azelie and I were waiting."
| Anatsol (23:42) | Anatsol peered over quietly as Zephius began leaving. It was clear he was watching him, intending on saying nothing until he was outside of earshot. He looked up at Kailadan for a moment, but continued his long stare at the leaving Zephius.
| Kailadan (23:48) | Following Anatsol's gaze, the Sword Knight simply watches Zephius go. "That man is nothing but trouble...but then again, so am I...and so is Azelie....and so are you, for that matter." Kailadan's attention shifted back to Anatsol, smirking just a bit.
| Anatsol (23:53) | "If you have a chance: Kill him." Anatsol said coldly, glaring to where Zephius was. "If he is left unchecked, the damage he can cause is considerable. Especially if anyone is foolish enough to trust him." the child said, looking up to Kailadan. "If he gets involved with the doppelgangers again, he'd only be a liability, even if he is temporarily aligned with us."
| Kailadan (23:59) | "I don't know about killing him, but I don't like the idea of working with him any more than you do. He's been a pain in the ass every time I've dealt with him. Somebody will eventually put him in his place, but it won't be me unless he really steps out of line." Once more, the Sword Knight's blue eyes shift to the door that Zephius had exited from.
| Tue Jun 3 |
| Anatsol (00:07) | "Fine. You're right, regardless. If it isn't you, it'll be someone else. Don't feel that you have to wait for me." Anatsol said, peering over the edge. "Even if you can't see me, it doesn't mean I'm not there. It's better for both of us if it remains that way. I'll be there when I'm needed. If I'm not there, you don't need me."
| Kailadan (00:12) | "Well, I was waiting for you to show up for some information, actually. Azelie and I are having issues finding out any information, and were hoping you'd be able to shed some light on where those dopplegangers are hiding."
| Anatsol (00:16) | "Like I said. They're attracted to something near Figaro. I wish I could tell you more, but.. it's a desert. With a castle. If Figaro wasn't the only safe structure in it, I could probably tell you right where they're hiding.. Or atleast 'roaming.'" he responded, looking up at him. "They're not really hiding. They're looking for something, the same way we'll need to be looking for them."
| Kailadan (00:22) | "I guess I'll have to organize a little search party for the desert around Figaro... I should get Zephius to go out there, and Azelie and I should comb Figaro carefully. Maybe we'll get lucky and Zephius will get lost out there." Kailadan couldn't help but let a light chuckle escape his lips.
| Anatsol (00:28) | "Or maybe he will get eaten by a sandworm." Anatsol said, "Those actions are probably best, though. We have to stop the two of them soon. I fear if they may cause a lot of damage if we don't stop them before.. whatever it is they're looking for gets found."
| Kailadan (00:31) | "And you have no idea what they're looking for, right? None at all?" Kailadan had the feeling that Anatsol knew more than he was letting on...but Kailadan always had that feeling when he was dealing with the Artificer. Same for Raum, for that matter. Of course, those two were hardly...normal.
| Anatsol (00:36) | "Like I said last time, it's something that's radiating a lot of magic. Like some kind of magical weapon. That's all I know, however. I can't pin point anyone who knows anything about it, unfortunately. Whatever it is, its secret is kept tight." Anatsol said, shrugging. "So long as we know where about it is, we'll use it to our advantage."
| Kailadan (00:40) | "I wonder what it could be that's attracting them? If we could find it, do you think we could use it to lure the dopplegangers into a trap of some kind? That'd make our lives so much easier." Bringing a hand up to his chin, Kailadan gives it a couple scratches while pondering the possibilities.
| Anatsol (00:42) | "You're more than welcome to try, but if its so secret that even I can't find anything about it, then there's people who WANT it to remain a secret. It could also make your stay in Figaro far more rough." Anatsol explained, leaning forward over the tower.
| Kailadan (00:47) | "People tend to have bad luck keeping secrets from me. I'll just look for information about both this magical device and the location of the dopplegangers at the same time. If somebody really wants to keep the magical thing secret, I bet they won't be too pleased about somebody like me looking for it, too. I'll just...have to make sure Azelie doesn't get herself into too much trouble at the same time." With a little bit of a mischievious grin, the Sword Knight tries to give Anatsol just a little shake while he's leaning over the edge, though if the Artificer were to start to fall, Kailadan would be sure to keep ahold of him.
| Anatsol (00:53) | "Good luck, in all cases. Nothing you're talking about doing is easy." Anatsol mentioned, pushing Kailadan's hand away. "I'll be going now, at any rate. Bye-bye." He said and fell forward from the tower. He gradually dissolved as he fell and vanished completely before he hit the ground.
| Kailadan (00:56) | Watching Anatsol fall, Kailadan couldn't help but maintain that grin, even as the Artificer vanished. "If I did things the easy way, people wouldn't come to me for help. I keep things exciting around here."
| Faern (00:57) | " Exciting? Care to excite me with the full story of these dopplegangers?" Faern asked, entering the tower as Kailadan spoke. " And just who were you talking to?"
| Kailadan (01:03) | Quickly turning to face the door, Kailadan's blue eyes instinctively narrowed upon hearing a voice, though his expression calmed moments after realizing who it was. "For a moment, I thought somebody not involved had just wandered in... I was talking to, in order, Azelie, Zephius, and then Anatsol."
| Faern (01:05) | " Well, I only just entered and heard your last part, so I guess it was Anatsol.." Faern said, with a shrug. " So...about the Dopplegangers. I remember when they were spawned. That's all." the boy continued, walking over and looking up at Kailadan. " So, Pinkie...what do have to say about them since?"
| Kailadan (01:07) | "Pinkie?" The Sword Knight raises a lone eyebrow as he takes a seat upon the edge of the tower. "I'll make you a deal, kiddo. You tell me about how they were created and I'll tell you about what they've been up to since then. Deal?"
| Faern (01:09) | " Alright...." Faern said, turning and looking out over the sand. " It was a pretty long time ago, I was in Vector for some reason. I think Azelie was too...and Zephius, cause they both have these things. Anyways, Anatsol ended up in the inn there." he said. " We were talking about something when, suddenly...a noxious pink gas, kind of like your hair, erupted from the facility!" Faern tossed his hands into the air to demonstrate.
| Kailadan (01:14) | "My hair's purple, but that's neither here nor there...and it's not noxious, either. Flamboyant, maybe, but definetly not vomit-inducing." Shifting his sapphire eyes up to the night sky, Kailadan casually folds his arms across his chest. "Sounds like Anatsol was telling the truth when he said that he created those things."
| Faern (01:15) | " How did you...I didn't even get to that part of the story!" Faern cried in exasparation. " You shouldn't interrupt or skip ahead!"
| Kailadan (01:17) | "Then by all means, continue, if you really want to. Your call." Kailadan couldn't help but smirk ever so slightly.
| Faern (01:20) | Faern gave Kailadan a glare, and turned away. " As the smoke grew, suddenly, a fire burst out in the inn! I found myself with Azelie and Anatsol. Azelie was quickly over come by the smoke and heat, and I tried to help her away. Then, a bunch of these odd pink Flans appeared." Faern stood silent for a moment. " I wish I knew how to conjure images and the like...that'd make this way cooler!" he said, turning back with a smile.
| Kailadan (01:32) | "Flan...must've been three of them, 'cause those were the dopplegangers. Zephius was the first one I encountered, while fighting Zephius himself. I encountered Azelie's while I was with Azelie. I didn't run into yours until during...an incident in Baron. I think I'm the only person to have run into all three, besides Anatsol, of course. Anatsol says that Zephius' has been dealt with, which leaves yours and Azelie's... Interestingly, all three of the originals are here, along with the remaining two dopplegangers. It's like the stage has been set for a final confrontation." The entire time he spoke, Kailadan simply stared off ahead of himself, as if he were in a daze.
| Faern (01:34) | " Right...Anatsol told me not to let them touch us, but...I ended up passing out too. After that, I never saw them again. All I know is he somehow saved us. Then I met Missus Arlathil after Azelie...abandoned me...then we met...then...well..you were there."
| Kailadan (01:38) | At the mention of Azelie, Kailadan let a light sigh escape his lips. "Azelie... She's misguided. I'm trying my best to be a respectable roll model for her, in the hopes that she'll change her ways, but it's difficult. She's not the same as she used to be, though, when she did...that to you."
| Faern (01:39) | " I still don't trust her....Or like her...not now..." Faern said quietly, without much conviction at all.
| Kailadan (01:43) | "Perfectly understandable. If I were in your shoes, I'd have difficulty trusting her, too...but I'd try. I always try and give people a second chance, even if I don't think they deserve it. Usually, if you give people an honest second chance, it's enough motivation for them to try to change. Or, at least open up to you." Kailadan's mind began to stray for a moment, to Nai, and the last time he had seen the Blade Caller. Even though Nai always appeared to be evil on the outside, Kailadan had seen a kinder side of him on many different occasions.
| Faern (01:51) | " I spent a long time trying to get her back, Kailadan...Until Arlathil..."
| Kailadan (02:01) | "Well, I won't ask you to forgive her. I know better. All I ask is that you can find it in yourself to be civil with her until this current mess is over, at the very least. We're all going to have to work together if we want to beat those two. They're...powerful. I might be able to take them on individually, but together, I wouldn't stand a chance... I'm sorry for dragging you into this, Faern."
| Faern (02:04) | " You're the one who got dragged into it." Faern said, standing and heading for the stairway. " Anatsol, Azelie, and I started it."
| Kailadan (02:07) | "No, I brought myself into it, by choosing to come here. I could've easily left the dopplegangers alone, since they've yet to cause me any real issues... Going to bed?"
| Faern (02:08) | " I'm not sure...I'm almost afraid I'll wake up someone else..."
| Kailadan (02:10) | "Well, you should get some sleep, if you need it. I...I really can't, unfortunately. I'm being punished for convincing you to come here, by Anatsol, with nightmares. It makes sleep a little tough to get." A light side slipped from Kailadan's lips.
| Faern (02:12) | " Anatsol takes too much upon himself. He should have known I would seek this..thing, out once I knew of it." Faern replied, shaking his head. " Oh...why did Nai have to do that to home...why...I could be with my parents...we could all be asleep..." he continued, more quietly, his voice taking on a somewhat...watery quality.
| Kailadan (02:17) | Patting the edge next to him for a moment, Kailadan proceeds to motion for Faern to join him. "Have a seat, relax. No sense in keeping your feelings to yourself. That won't do you any good. All it'll do is make you cold and emotionless."
| Faern (02:20) | " If I'm going to get back at Nai for what he did to Baron...and momma...then I may need to." the boy replied, turning to face Kailadan. " My mother's dying words were a plea to exact revenge on him...and I can't even find him to try....I thought Azelie would help me...but...". Faern broke off, his head lowered, chin against his chest. " i've just been..stagnant, since that happened. I spent months in Gariland, studying, shut away from everything..."
| Kailadan (02:26) | "Revenge... And so, the conversation comes full circle. I'll tell you the very same thing that I've two other people tonight... If you kill Nai, somebody will eventually make you pay for it, because that's how violence works. It's never the correct path, killing somebody, no matter what they did. It just lowers you to their level. To rise above them...that's true revenge."
| Faern (02:27) | " That man doesn't deserve to live! Our family never did anything to him. Why Baron? Why?" Faern said, ignoring kailadan.
| Kailadan (02:31) | "It doesn't matter why Nai chose to target Baron. What would you do if you killed him? It wouldn't bring anybody back. It'd just created another senseless death."
| Anatsol (21:37) | Misthrall hid deep underground as the adventurers collected above. A powerful sensation of magic radiated over her body. It surged over and over, with every pulse, a faint screeching sound could be heard throughout the hidden underground corridor. A shimmering sphere hovered in place over a basin of constantly flowing water, likely the source of the overwhelming presense of magic. She spoke quietly, mesmerized by the light of the floating object. "It's almost ready. Almost." Anatsol, on the other hand, was casusally walking the electricity lit streets of Figaro, like any average child would before curfew. It wasn't a common thing for him to be somewhere without someone he knew near by, but then again, this wasn't a common day. Not by any means.
| Vetic (21:39) | "Bah! Ah 'ate tha deser'. Keep gettin' san' ev'rywhere..." The dwarf grumbled as the castle Figaro started to become more than a haze in the heat. Vetic was on a mission. A mission to imbibe more alcohol than any human ever could - but that was a nightly mission for him. He hefted his backpack, making sure it was snug and comfortable on his back as the distance between the gates was closing as quickly as his small legs could walk.
| Azelie (21:42) | Sand, dust, and dirt covered the heavily cloaked girl made her way from the stables. She had just returned from a look around the desert, and nothing seemed to be of use. The look on her face showed that she was trully frustrated, though her face was long burnt from the sun. But, at least she was close to a cold bath, something she was looking forward to all day. She pushed the door open under the inn, climbing the ladder sluggishly with the bit of energy she had left.
| Quinton (21:47) | Quinton sighs loudly, idly attempting with limited success to blow the hair from his eyes as he walks along the dimly-lit streets. He had been in Figaro for... Months, now, learning whatever he could from the few martial arts masters that resided in the mostly technological city. Any place that was once home to the legendary Sabin was bound to teach him a thing or two. Unfortunately he had spent most of his time in boredom, still without a clue as to what they were doing there, beyond building an airship. "Two more days and I'm out of here," he mutters quietly, almost as though it was rehearsed. He had been saying that every other day, since the day he had gotten there. He grumbles under his breath before moving the hair from his eyes with his hand, as he continues to walk aimlessly down the street.
| Zephius (21:48) | Inside his room in Figaro inn, Zephius was examining his dual ninjato carefully. The weaponsmith of Figaro certainly lived up his name. The weapons were well crafted but compared to his Nodachi, these looked just amaetur work. Zephius glanced sideways to his two-handed weapon. Being a weapon of ancient times, it was masterfully crafted with bolts and mechanisms, likes of he have'nt seen before. Sheathing his weapons, he readied himself and walked out of his room, his nodachi strapped to his back beside his duffel bag.
| Anatsol (21:55) | Anatsol seemed to gradually fade out of sight as he wandered the street. It was odd, that he would be there, but not the next. Atleast, that's what others would think of the vanishing child. Some of the guards began muttering to one another. Especially those around the inn. However, the topic wasn't mostly about the odd 'ghost child', but the unusual twins roaming the streets. The patrons of the inn glanced over at the new(er) patrons, but didn't pay much mind.
| Azelie (21:57) | The door in the floor of the inn swung open, and Azelie finally made it into the 'cooler' atmosphere of the castle. As she climbed in, she just laid on the floor, patrons stepping around her as she just kept her face pressed to the stone. "Damn desert." was all she could mumble as she slowly picked herself up, pulling the hood from her head.
| Vetic (21:59) | Finally, thought the dwarf as he walked through the main gates to Figaro. "Now ta jus' find da tavern...." Vetic murmured to himself. "Follow the road a bit further...." A guard quickly gave directions to the obviously sober dwarf. With a simple tip of his metal cap and the exchange of some gil, the dwarf maneuvered his way through the castle's interior, finally making his way to the ladder leading to the Inn. "Hmm..I do 'ope I dunnae fall down dis later when I be done wit' me drinkin'!" Vetic laughed loudly and climbed up into the Inn.
| Zephius (22:00) | Zephius was among those patrons though he did'nt say anything. There was no need to speak to her for there's nothing the mystic could provide. Not even her services. As the crowd grew in numbers, Zephius silently stepped away from the ring and began to walk towards the door.
| Anatsol (22:00) | "If you came back in here for MORE drinks, then you'll know that my answer is STILL no." the bartender shouted at Azelie. "Women, now-a-days. You'd think they were crazy." he said. Some of the patrons scowled quietly, but didn't do much more than ignore her afterwards.
| Azelie (22:03) | Azelie's eyes moved towards the shouting, obviously directed at herself. "Excuse me?" She replied in an almost confused, yet not humored fashion. "No to what? I don't remember asking you for anything besides a room... And I got that a few nights ago." But it was obvious she was being ignored, and so, she made her way closer, finally realizing this was the break.
| Quinton (22:07) | Quinton continues making his way down the street, his stomach suddenly growling loudly at him. He grumbles back at it, and after a quick glance at his surroundings, heads towards the inn and the hot meal he knew would be waiting for him. It wasn't long before the entrance was in sight, and he was making his way inside. He quickly glances about the room before making his way to the bar, a slight twinging in his mind as though he had missed something he should have paid attention to. His hunger, however, had grown in the time it took him to walk to the inn, and in short order a large plate of ham was sitting before him, smothered in pineapple, peas, and mashed potatoes. Without much hesitation, he began stuffing as much as he could into his mouth, as though it would disappear if he didn't eat it quickly.
| Anatsol (22:07) | "Yeah. The room, the six flagons of ale, two pitchers of beer and an entire BARREL of liqour, all charged to that room. You're lucky I let you put that all on your tab" he grunted deeply before raising his voice. "What's the use in even telling you? I told you to stop, but you kept drinking. Now look at you! You've probably more alcohol than blood and brains!"
| Vetic (22:08) | The floor to the Inn burst open, slamming loudly. Moving with the speed and agility of a boulder, Vetic crawled up, grumbling at the bartender as he caught the tail-end of his yelling, "Ah dinnae come 'ere ta 'ear ya dinnae 'ave anyt'in' ya drink!" Vetic roared back, brushing sand from his clothes and walking over to the bar.
| Zephius (22:11) | Zephius stopped in his tracks and turned to let the shorty dwarf passed through. He turned, glancing at Azelie and the innkeeper. Turning around, he walks the man and stood in front of him. Reaching into his pouch, he withdrew 500 gil. "I'll pay for her tab and the change you can keep to stay silent for the rest of the days." He placed the coins on the counter, looking expectantly for an answer from the innkeeper.
| Anatsol (22:14) | "That's not enough to cover her tab, boy." the bartender glared at Zephius. "Put your change where your mouth is. That barrel ALONE was worth over one-hundred thousand gil. She came in here, preaching about the deep pockets of the Golden Dawn." he taunted Zephius. "I hope you have enough to cover that, missy." he said threatenly down to Azelie.
| Azelie (22:14) | The girl gave a frown towards Zephius as someone came to her rescue again. "Wait, you sure you have the right room? I'm in 3C, which room had the tab. In fact, I've been in the desert for the last day and a half." She then gave a look towards Zephius again, and then a slight nod.
| Anatsol (22:16) | "Like some other girl that looks EXACTLY like you is crazy enough to come all the way out here to this deserted hell hole of stone and oil. It's you, alright. Don't try to weasel out of this, fox girl." the bartender grumbled. "Until I get that money, you and your friends are cut off. You hear?"
| Azelie (22:20) | The girl couldn't help but smirk. She turned away and then said, "Tell me then, what color are my eyes? If it was really me, you should know, after all, if I owe you that much, you would know me well." She gave a sly smirk, hoping Zephius would know what she's going for. Of course, she wasn't sure if Zephius knew.
| Zephius (22:21) | Zephius kept his gil in his pouch. " You are'nt going to cut me fron my room are you? I pay for my room promptly and I insist my rights." Glancing towards Azelie for a second, realization dawned upon him as he turned back towards the innkeeper gazing upon him intently.
| Vetic (22:22) | Vetic hopped up on a stool, looking at the bartender, "I dunnae care 'ow much dis girl 'ere owes ya. I'm worried 'bout 'ow much I be owin' yas, Gimme a stout." The dwarf slid 50 gil across the bartop, "An keep em comin' til I pass out."
| Anatsol (22:23) | "I'm done playing these games, girl. You want me to tell you the color of your eyes? They're about to be blood red. You're upsetting my PAYING customers." the bartender took the dwarf's gil. He whirled around, poured the dwarf's drink into a mug and placed it infront of him. "Here you are, my good sir."
| Azelie (22:26) | "Oh really? You so sure about that. Actually, its a serious question, because, yes I do have a twin, and her eyes are definitely a different color then mine. And the fact is, we both happen to be here, in this very place." Azelie replied, her back still towards the barkeep. She was trying to keep her cool, and it was working quite well, despite the fact she now, there was another reason to find her doppelganger. However, her smirk became less jovial, and more of a stern look. "Now please good sir, what was the color of her eyes?"
| Vetic (22:29) | Giving the bartender a nod, Vetic sweeps up the mug n his hand and starts gulping down the ale. 3 gulps was all it took, and the mug is slammed down, followed by a loud belch. "Ohhh now dat be what I be needin'." Vetic smiled a genuine smile and slid the empty mug towards the bartender. He looked around the tavern, recognizing Azelie but not saying anything. It would be rude, afterall, to interrupt anothers conversation. "I'll be 'avin' anudda please good sir."x"
| Quinton (22:29) | His plate nearly emptied, Quinton lets out a loud belch before finally relaxing, wiping the food from his face and then turning towards the patrons once again. It wasn't long before he spots the group of familiar faces arguing with the barkeep. "What in the bloody hells are THEY doing here?" he mutters under his breath, debating over whether to see what they were doing or continue eating. After a minute of internal debate, he settled on moving his plate and a freshly arrived glass of milk to a table within earshot of the group.
| Zephius (22:30) | Zephius stood aside, allowing Azelie to have a full view of the innkeeper. Bingo! They have some track of the doppelganger at last. Zephius was determined not to let this bit of clue slipped away from him and he hopes, for the sake of herself, Azelie is confident of her actions too.
| Anatsol (22:32) | "Are you both in the Golden Dawn? Do you both report to Kailadan?" the bartender glared at Azelie firmly. "Your 'twin' looks, acts, and talks exactly like you. Eyes and all." the bartender took the empty mug, placed it aside, and poured another drink into a fresh mug, then placed it before the dwarf. "There's a whole group of you here. This Zephius right here, your 'leader', some boy you seem to be having some relationship trouble with, some crazy whacked out nutjob of another kid." he said, challenging Azelie. "Wait. Let me guess. You and your sister live in the same skull. Is that it?"
| Vetic (22:35) | The dwarf nods to the bartender, this time not destroying the contents of his mug instantly. His thoughts ran in his head, 'Damn Golden Dawn is running around everywhere these days...maybe I shouldn't have slept for that month...'
| Azelie (22:36) | "Actually, that is where you are wrong. She happens to have eyes of a purple mist, while I." She turned around, only to stare down the barkeep a bit. "Happen to have green eyes. And no, she does not report to Kailadan, she is not a member of Golden Dawn. She is a wanted..." She ignored the jab from Vetic, and quieted down just a bit. "Wait, you seen the other too, didn't you? A young boy, same purple eyes, thinking he was just like the kid it cloned."
| Faern (22:38) | " You mean me, right?" a voice said. Faern stood a short ways back from the group, staring. " Hey, Vetic!" he said, brightening. " Where have you been?"
| Anatsol (22:38) | "I saw the boy. One of them atleast. Drinks pretty well, himself, but atleast he paid upfront. Pretty talented with magic. Entertained a few of our patrons. And no. His eyes were not purple." he grumbled, rubbing his forehead. "Where do you come UP with stories like these? Are you on the cocktail?" He motioned at Faern as he entered. "Good to see you again, lad."
| Vetic (22:40) | "Well. Dat be a long storeh... basically ended up wit' me 'n me clan settin' up ale shipmen's between da caves 'n Baron den we all drank fer a week. Den I woke up a couple weeks 'go.." He grabbed up his mug and took a pull.
| Anatsol (22:42) | Some of the patrons had similar feelings for Faern. A few of them hooted at the boy as he entered, others waved in a similarly friendly manner. The bartender looked from Faern, then back to Azelie. "Are you done, missy?"
| Zephius (22:43) | "I'm not with the Golden Dawn." Zephius explained, "But I'm looking for the person with those purple mist eyes because she owes me money too. And I -want- it back somehow and to make her suffer a bit." Zephius's face was grim as he spoke. Taking a step closer he gestured, "Maybe we can work something out? You know where she went?"
| Faern (22:44) | Faern gazed around. " Do they know me?" he muttered quietly, reacting to the patrons.
| Azelie (22:45) | "Aye, I guess so, but seriously. I didn't buy those drinks. Remember, I was the one that got that small flagon of hot spike cider." She muttered, as she turned away, walking from the bar. She grumbled, pulled her key out, and actually threw it hard towards the barkeep. "Oh, and your hospitallity is the worst. I seen better places to stay in the ogre camp then this place!"
| Vetic (22:46) | The dwarf suddenly bursts out in laughter, "Ha! Now dat be da bigges' load a' crap Ah eva 'eard!! Ogres dunnae even 'ave taverns!"
| Quinton (22:46) | Quinton stares down at his milk, the towards the assembled group, then back at his milk again, and mutters, "Did it go bad?" Azelie, having a twin? And apparently they've been here for weeks. How had he not noticed any of them in all this time? He sighs, stuffing the last bit of ham into his mouth, and watching the departing Azelie intently, half expecting her to split in two or burst into flame or something.
| Anatsol (22:47) | "Listen, boy. She walked in. Drank herself into debt, and went upstairs. She must've jumped out the window at some point, to come back in that way." he motioned at the door. "There's no 'purple eyed' people around these parts. Never are, never have been, and probably never will be." the bartender grumbled, turning his back to Azelie to regard Faern. "Of course they know you, lad. You gave them quite a show with those fancy magic tricks. Most of us in Figaro haven't seen much finer magic weaving than that."
| Faern (22:48) | " Uhm... I don't...Anatsol, my eyes ARE purple...and...The only person I've seen since I came here was Kailadan...." Faern said, looking from person to person.
| Anatsol (22:50) | "Oh. So they are." the bartender said, scratching his chin, then shrugged. "Sorry. Last time I saw you, I could've sworn they were different. But hey. I'm only human. I make mistakes." the bartender casually tossed off his mistake. Probably had something to do with the payment he received the first time. "With all of your light shows, I wasn't really paying that much attention."
| Zephius (22:51) | "Are you sure she is not inside the room at this moment? I'm sure if you take us to the room she was in, you be in a shock of your life. You see, what you saw was a clone of hers."
| Anatsol (22:52) | "Listen. I've got paying customers. I'm not going to leave them to go on some goose chase with you people. If you want me to believe you, bring her 'CLONE' down here and prove it to me." he spat back at Zephius, then looked at Faern. "Will you be having anything?"
| Faern (22:53) | " Well.. I usually ha...Wait. I'll just have what I had last time." Faern replied, settling a few gil out upon the counter.
| Vetic (22:53) | Vetic looks right at the bartender, "Well, If'n ya be wantin' ta go take ah look, I will be more 'n 'appy ta run t'ings down
| Vetic (22:53) | Vetic looks right at the bartender, "Well, If'n ya be wantin' ta go take ah look, I will be more 'n 'appy ta run t'ings down 'ere fer yas."
| Zephius (22:53) | "I'll try, give me the room name and a spare key if you will in case she does'nt want to open the door. I prefer not to damage the place but the 'clone' is a stubborn one." Zephius said.
| Azelie (22:54) | Azelie was already out of the inn, waiting outside the door attached to the main hall. She leaned up against the walls, waiting for a moment, mumbling to herself. "Great, we have word of the dopplegangers, and neither Anatsol or Kailadan are around." She waited, but then pushed off the wall. "But, he said, she had a room. So time to do a little dirty work."
| Anatsol (22:55) | "Ale it is." the bartender said, swiping a large mug from the shelf behind him, then filled it until it was nearly overflowing. He sat it down infront of Faern and nodded. "No need for the change. You actually left without drinking the last of your coin."
| Faern (22:57) | The same drink. " Oh? Well...take it for yourself then." Faern muttered, taking his mug. " So...uhm...Are you actually just going to go barging into her room? Isn't that an invasion of privacy?"
| Zephius (22:57) | Zephius was annoyed. The innkeeper's lack of respect for travellers seemed more dangerous than the doppelgangers at the moment. He had half a mind to cut the innkeeper's head off but resisted the temptation. "I'm gona need a spare key if I were to enter her room with the door intact." He repeated himself again.
| Anatsol (23:00) | "I don't handle the keys, boy. Even if I did, I wouldn't trust you enough to give it to you. That girl you're with has a mouth on her when she's liqoured up. Tells me some pretty terrible things about you." he said, sweeping the gil from the counter and nodding at Faern. "Thank you, lad."
| Faern (23:02) | " Hey...Uhm...Common courtesy?...It's really an invasion of privacy just to go in there..no matter if 'she' is there or not.." Faern said, glaring at Zephius. He took a drink, and sighed.
| Quinton (23:03) | Quinton mutters under his breath, looking down at his now-emptied plate, to the assembled group, and to Azelie, sighing before pushing himself to his feet. He strides towards the barkeep, shooting a glare at Zephius and a softer glance at Faern. "If it's all the same to you, I'll go check things out. If these people are talking about doppelgangers and things, it might be best to keep an eye on them, y'know? Who knows how much they've had to drink, to come up with something like this? What room was it again?"
| Anatsol (23:05) | "I don't handle the keys. I handle the liqour, and the tabs. What part of that is so hard to understand? If you want to know what room she's in, go ask her yourself." the bartender motioned, moving to serve his other customers.
| Azelie (23:07) | The girl pondered for a moment, the jovial sound of the bar finally out of earshot. She paced back and forth around the hallway for a moment, before swiftly making her way towards the main gate of the castle. She knew the back way around, though the climb was going to be tough. The guards and people muttered as she moved, finally reaching the sand of outside. She tried to act as normal as she could.
| Zephius (23:08) | Zephius turned and walked out of the common room sighing to himself, "Looks like it has to be done the hard way." He walks out of the hallway and up the hallway to the rooms are.
| Faern (23:09) | " nobody cares about privacy..besides, she went outside, not in." Faern muttered, settling into his drink.
| Anatsol (23:10) | "Yeah. The only thing that bugs me about the whole thing is that she drinks for hours, goes up stairs, then wanders in the front door again. I reckon she hopped out the window in a drunken daze. Surprised she wasn't more injured than she was." the bartender mentioned, rubbing his chin again.
| Azelie (23:12) | The girl slunk around the shadows outside of the castle, slowly moving in the sand like some sort of predator. When she finally thought she had her 'target' insight, she slowly reached for a small electronic device, flipped a switch, and placed the headset on. "Zephius, you there?" She spoke quietly, hoping not to alarm anyone that might be close by.
| Faern (23:12) | " Up..then back. Hmm. So, my memory seems to be kind of...limited. What exactly did I do with some lights?" Faern asked, to generally, well..anyone.
| Anatsol (23:13) | The response was varied from Faern's admirers. Unfortuantely, there was atleast seven different people talking about it all at the same time, most recounting completely different things.
| Zephius (23:14) | Zephius was surprised when a voice suddenly spoke out from nowhere, and from his belt pouch. Retrieveing a small black handheld electronic device, he flipped the cover and held it to his right ear "I am. You're... Azelie?"
| Quinton (23:16) | Quinton sighs, muttering under his breath about unhelpful people, before stalking after Zephius. He'd leave Faern for later, though what he'd say to the boy he had no idea. His feet made barely any sound as he followed the shadowy form of the ninja down the hallway, not particularly attempting to remain unnoticed but not going out of his way to make his presence known, either.
| Faern (23:16) | " Hey, hey, one at a time!...I did WHAT with a fireball?" Faern cried out, kind of, swelling, at these words. Well, if one could do it, surely the original could...if he just knew what it was.
| Azelie (23:17) | "No, I am the toothmoogle." The girl replied over the PHS quite sarcasically. "Anyways, what is the plan? I can't go back in through the inn, so I'm doing it the hard way. She has a room somewhere, and I need to find it." Despite no one being around, all she could do is smirk. ~Trusting a sellsword... yeah, that's what I need to do.~ She thought, slowly approaching a window to the inn. She ducked down, hoping none of the patrons would spy her as she clung to the wall underneath the window.
| Anatsol (23:20) | Quinton's bracelet began to hum quietly as he followed behind Zephius. It was almost as if it were trying to get his attention. Faern's admirers continued to bombard him with detailed, almost overly detailed explainations of what he had done for the crowd. Many seem exagerated, some seemed only reasonable that any mage could accomplish. Regardless of the greatness or simplicity of the acts these people saw, they were impressed none-the-less.
| Zephius (23:22) | "Listen to me, your doppelganger will have your characteristics, traits and personality. Think about what you usually do in a room when distressed, and find a room that matches to what would happen if you were in it, I'm gona try and see if I can find the room too, with a little mess." Zephius took out a potion from a small white pouch. He quaffed it and slowly faded away into thin air.
| Quinton (23:26) | Quinton pauses for a moment, looking down at the heavy golden bracelet wrapped around his wrist as it began to vibrate slightly and hum softly. "What the hell...?" he says, turning it around on his wrist and examining it closely. "It's never done THAT before," he mutters, sighing before looking up at the retreating form of Zephius. He curses quietly as the ninja suddenly disappears, grumbling under his breath before continuing slowly down the hallway. There were only so many rooms he could be headed to.
| Azelie (23:28) | The girl nodded, slowly retreating a bit. "In that case Zephius, I think we better wait. We'll need Kailadan in order to clear this up." She looked around a bit, pulled the hood from her cloak, and started to make her way to the stables. "I'd normally say move tonight, but beings this is his thing, I have to wait. I'll be in the stables. At least I'll probably be able to sleep there."
| Faern (23:28) | Faern ran a hand through his shaggy, rose tinted hair. " So...anyone...JUST ONE PERSON...have a trick they want to see?" As though it would work....wait. " Hands! That's what we need."
| Anatsol (23:31) | The upstairs was strangely quiet, save from some noise coming from the patrons a floor down. There was a certain stillness in the air. A faint musk. The floor of the upstairs creeked slightly, but fell silent shortly after. There was no snoring, despite the time of night. No lovers whispers. No crying babe. Nothing that the quarters of the inn ususally has.
| Zephius (23:32) | "Right. It'll work too. Let me know when you're moving. Obviously, the innkeeper won't be too pleased. We have to watch for him" Turning around, Zephius came face to face with a mystic whom he knew all too well. "Blasted mystic. So he's following me eh? I won't give him the pleasure." Zephius murmured softly to himself while his hands clasped togeter in a handseal. He soon floated up several inches above the ground while he felt his feet becoming lighter. Zephius thus sneaked quietly back to his room, away without Quinton knowing, awaiting the signal from Azelie.
| Thu Jun 5 |
| Zephius (11:25) | Zephius looked out of the balcony as he gazed at the Sea of Sand around him. Its been a few days now yet no sign or two about the doppelgangers. Could have the doppelganers escaped? How would he find them? What are they seeking? All these questions swam in his head as he sighed. "Better go back to the inn or something" thought Zephius as he climbed down the stairs.
| Kaliato (11:29) | panted breathlessly. It had been a very long day's work. He had been contracted to make firebreaks around a large estate outside of Coneria. It was hot and tiring work and he ended the day with ash and soot clinging to his clothes. Only one thing could solve his filthy appearance and the aches in his body. A nice cool bath at the Inn.
| Zephius (11:39) | Zephius made his way to the inn through the crowd, dodging amazingly left and right as he reached unscathed at the entrance. He pushed open the door, but slipped in quietly as he wished to avoid another row with the innkeeper again. He spotted a seat in the nearest corner and walked briskly towards it, sitting down as he sweeps a quick glance over the crowd.
| Kaliato (11:44) | Descending the stairs a cleanly shaven Kaliato looked around the bar. He found a quiet table in the corner with only one man at it. No one seemed to approach it. His curiosity piqued he headed over to the table. Asking a barmaid to fetch him a beer on his way and handing her a few gil. He closed on the table and waved greeting at the mysterious stranger. "Good evening, would you mind if I have a seat?" he inquired.
| Aerin (11:46) | The unearthly heat rising up from the dunes combined with a brisk wind that stirred up small clouds of desert sand had made Aerin's most recent journey to Figaro all but intolerable. The sun beat down from its apex mercilessly. The silver-haired knight wiped the beaded sweat from his brow before making the last push to reach the top of the tall sand dune. He covered his mouth with a handkerchief as the sand swirled about him and plodded on. The rise of the dune blocked out nearly all of the horizon. With the wailing of the wind in his ears, Aerin trudged up the last few paces of the dune half-heartedly. And there, spread out like a bastion of light in the darkness, was the castle-city of Figaro.
| Zephius (11:49) | Zephius merely nodded, paying for the cup of tea he had ordered. Right now, any obstacle be it table or black mage, that blocks him from the innkeeper's view would be good.
| Kaliato (11:55) | Kaliato glanced over at the stranger who had just paid for a cup of tea. "My name is Kaliato," he stated, offering his hand to the stranger. "Have you had troubles with alcohol before?" he asked innocently. "I could buy you something stronger if money is your trouble," he offered, looking to relax after his efforts during the day.
| Aerin (11:56) | With his vigor renewed at the sight of the sparkling jewel of a city not so far off now, he began his trek again with a lighter bounce to his step, the leather armor not feeling quite so stifling and the burden of his gear a little less heavy. Although Lady Eseldrid had sent him on more dangerous tasks, this definitely qualified as one of the worst. His stomach roiled suddenly at the thought of food and drink. "The first place I'll visit will be the tavern..." he muttered, his tongue as dry as cotton. The empty canteen at his side spoke of a long, arduous journey that had almost ended in disaster had he not stumbled upon the city by sheer chance.
| Zephius (11:59) | Zephius looked at Kaliato's outstretched hand and winced slightly. Truly indeed, the man speak the truth. Knowing he's going to regret it, he took the man's hand and shook, certain to withdraw his hand quickly. "I just don't drink alcohol. You're an engineer around here?"
| Zephius (12:06) | "Maybe you'll find joy in the weaponsmith" Zephius drained the last sip of his tea and stood up. "Just call me Zephius. I'm usually at the inn here drinking so who knows? Next time we can sit down here again." He then turns and begins to leave.
| Aerin (12:09) | Aerin shuffled his way through the loose skree and sand as he descended the dune. His silver hair was damp with sweat and clung to his leathers, but now the sweat was almost welcome compared to the raw rub of the sand on his skin. The last half-league seemed to go by in a dreamy haze, and as he stumbled toward the gatehouse the guards looked up in surprise before one rushed to his side. "Just.. a little.. water..." he mouthed, the words as soft as the whisper of silk on skin. The guard offered him a canteen from which the knight drank greedily. The taste of the water was divine. There was a hint of saccharine sweetness to it. Or perhaps that was just his desperate thirst. Either way, it was a welcome treat. As his thirst finally tapered off, Aerin smiled lazily up at the guard. "Could.. you direct me to the nearest tavern?"
| Aerin (12:15) | The guard half-lifted the young knight to his feet before leading him down the sand-littered avenue. The tavern sign swung lazily in the hot wind as they drew near. Aerin's eyes seemed to flicker in and out of double-vision, which was something both terrifying and amusing at the same time. "I... oh father.. why..." he mumbled incoherently as they approached the doors. The guard gave him a concerned look but shrugged as he pushed the door ajar with his boot and half-dragged Aerin inside. "A glass of water of the lad!" the guard cried out while sitting Aerin at a table only paces away from the black mage.
| Kaliato (12:21) | "Zephius," he said, repeating it a few times. He was struggling over the pronunciation of the name. His struggles were interrupted by the door to the Inn swinging wide open. A town guard and a bedraggled looking young man in leather armour entered. He appeared to have spent far too long in the harsh barren desert surrounding Figaro. Kaliato sipped on his beer and observed.
| Aerin (12:29) | "Oh... hel..lo...." the Sword Knight said lazily toward no one in particular. In fact, there was a distinct void of people in the direction he was looking toward. A moment later, a waitress that was handsome rather than pretty set a mug of water next to the knight's left elbow before being beckoned away by another group of patrons nearby. Aerin reached toward his chest, fumbling about for a moment, before he pulled a fragile locket from beneath the folds of his leather tunic. Suddenly, he turned toward Kaliato and smiled before tucking the locket back into his shirt. His senses were still muffled, but slowly returning. "Wha..? How..? Where? Oh my. Is this.. Figaro?" A pale blush rose in his cheeks.
| Kaliato (12:37) | Kaliato watched the young man greet thin air. "Perhaps the heat has addled the poor man's brain," he thought to himself, restraining a smirk. The man turned towards him asking all manner of questions. "Yes, my good man. If it was Figaro you were hunting for. Its Figaro you've found," he said jovially. He rose from the table and approached the man. "Better get you to firmer ground," he suggested, throwing his arm round the shoulder of the man and aiding him to the table in the corner. He picked up the jug of water deftly in his other hand. "Just how long were you out there?" he questioned.
| Aerin (12:42) | The sight of the silver locket seemed to have sobered the heat-addled knight rather quickly. Turning concerned eyes toward the rest of the tavern, he made a quick perusal of the occupants before reaching toward the mug of water at his side. At the news that he had, indeed, reached Figaro, he seemed to brighten slightly. Taking a long drink from the mug, he drained most of the contents in one swallow before wiping his mouth dry with his forearm. "Oh.. thank you for your help.." he said softly as the other man lifted him from the current seating. With what power he had left in his legs, he managed to shuffled around until he was seated comfortably at the table before setting the mug down in front of him. "I didn't even properly introduce myself. The name is Aerin Amberle." He offered his hand while continuing. "I don't really know how long I was out in that hellhole of a wasteland, to be quite honest. At least two days. Maybe more. The water ran out hours ago and I thought I was done for."
| Kaliato (12:54) | Kaliato listened to the mans tale. "It was brave to tackle that monstrous dessert alone," he said to Aerin. "My name is Kaliato," he said proudly, his chest expanding as he said it. "I only just got back to Figaro this even, I was out near Coneria making firebreaks for an estate holder," he said. "Anyway I'm glad you made it in one piece," he said before drinking the rest of his beer. He ordered another and more water for Aerin.
| Aerin (12:57) | "Kaliato. Well met, and thanks again." The knight leaned back in his seat, taking in the surroundings with less of a critical eye this time. The establishment was much like any other tavern, although hints of Figaro's heritage were littered about the walls and tacked up behind the bar. Finishing off his mug of water, he licked his parched lips before speaking again. "Coneria you say? I call Coneria my home as well, although I'm originally from Vector." As the new drinks arrive, he takes a few moments to contemplate the last few days while they both quench their thirst.
| Kaliato (13:09) | "Vector you say?" he asked rhetorically. "I haven't been out that way in my travels, I spent my youth in Gariland. I was expelled from the Academy there. Now like you Coneria has become my home away from home," he explained while taking an occasional sip of his beverage. "What brings you out all this way, if I may ask?" he inquired looking over at Aerin. The young man appeared to have regained his composure. Kaliato looked at him closely for the first time. "What a peculiar eye colour," he thought to himself while looking into Aerin's silver eyes.
| Aerin (13:40) | Listening intently to Kaliato, Aerin took the time to regain the last of his senses. Although things were still blurry over the last day and a half of travel, he was able to piece together enough to remember the death of his horse to the fury of a sandstorm the previous day and the treacherous walk from then on. "Gariland... Gariland..." he pondered. "Oh! The magic city, Gariland. Which would make you a... mage?" He didn't know what the Academy was or why this man had been expelled from it, but if Aerin was anything it was non-judgmental. "My patroness, Lady Eseldrid Blackthorn, sent me here to.. complete a task for her."
| Kaliato (13:50) | "I have been known to weave magic from time to time," Kaliato said with a chuckle. "I must confess to having an affinity with fire. I get tense if I haven't been able to burn things in a while," he said, trying to look as maniacal as possible. "I'm just poking fun, Aerin, " he explained, a smile creeping to his face. "Lady Eseldrid Blackthorn you say?" again asking a rhetorical question. "She sounds important, yet I haven't heard of her. What is her business?"
| Aerin (13:58) | The sword knight chuckled softly at the jest, leaning forward just enough to reach his mug before taking another sip of the chill water. His skin tingled in a cool repose of the inn, which was a sure sign of the burns he would be suffering with for the next few days. But they were a small price to pay compared to the alternatives. "Lady Blackthorn keeps to herself, so she's fairly reclusive in Coneria. She doesn't attend King Zethrayon's court." He pursed his lips for a moment in thought. "I do various tasks for her that she cannot do for herself. She's not in the best of health." Of course, even healthy women sometimes need the help of an assassin, he thought to himself.
| Kaliato (14:12) | Kaliato listened to Aerin talk of his mistress while finishing his beer. Waving down a barmaid while continuing to listen, he ordered another beer and a small flask of the strongest liquor they had. "Most interesting, a reclusive mistress of noble blood who gets you to run errands?" he asked trying to gauge Aerin's reaction. He got the sense there was more to this story then he was been told. He wasn't in the mood for confrontation so he put into motion his plan to show off his magic. "You'll love this, " he stated, waiting for his drinks. "I'll show you a little magic," he exclaimed.
| Aerin (14:17) | "The assessment was fairly accurate, yes. Although... I hope you don't get the idea that we are lovers." The knight set his mug down with a wince at the though of the gouty old woman cooing soft nothings in his ear. The gods knew she had tried that already. "But magic sounds fascinating. Here in the north, we don't see much magic. It's all the southern cities that seem to prosper in the spiritual arts. Unless you count Mist..." He leaned back again, waiting to see the first display from Kaliato, a smile just about to blossom on his lips by the slight upturn to them.
| Kaliato (14:27) | "I dare not have presumed as such, though one can never know with these noble women," he said. The barmaid returned with his drinks which he tipped generously for. "Stick around for my little show love, you might enjoy it." Kaliato suddenly jumped upon the table. "My young friend here doubts my claims to magical powers," he shouted to the other patrons before winking conspiringly to Aerin. "I've thought of a little display you all might enjoy." Taking the spirits he ordered he poured the contents into his mouth. He placed a finger of his right hand to his mouth. A small vapor like flame began to extend from it. Suddenly he spat the spirits and an explosion of fire leapt from his mouth. It quickly expired as quickly as it had formed.
| Aerin (14:32) | Aerin chuckled softly. Noble women were known for their... bravado. At least in Coneria. As the barmaid returned with the drinks, Aerin took his with a nod, reaching into his coinpouch only to see Kaliato hand her gil instead. "I will pay for the next round. I've been a burden enough as it is..." His voice tapered to a half-whisper as the mage jumped to the tabletop. Considering the ruined garb of the fire mage, it would be little surprise to find that he was actually some homeless fool from the dregs of the city's underbelly. However, as the flame sprouts from Kaliato's fingertip, Aerin's eyes seem to balloon into saucers. The flaming breath that follows is nothing short of spectacular. "Bravo!"
| Kaliato (14:43) | Kaliato basked in the crowd's reaction. Surprised gasps were the things that he really enjoyed. Always keen to surprise. "Well I think I've proved my point," he shouted before engaging in an exaggerated bow. He stepped down from the table and whispered something into the barmaid's ear before giving her a playful spank. She blushed and darted back to the bar. "Well where were we?" he asked.
| Aerin (14:51) | Aerin applauded heartily, his sun-baked hands burning pleasantly now. It was only a matter of time before the real pain started. The spank caused the sword knight to raise a single eyebrow again, but he let the gesture slide. Most barmaids were used to such treatment. "I have completely and utterly forgotten. That was.. quite a spectacle. I can tell that you enjoy fire."
| Kaliato (15:02) | "I'm glad you enjoyed it," he stated, smiling proudly. "Now you'll have to excuse me. My displays as well as my tiring day seem to have caught up with me. I shall retire to my room. Hopefully I may have a late night visitor, " he said daring a glance towards the bar. "I have enjoyed our meeting. Good luck with your task. Perhaps we will meet again. I would love to talk again on the morrow," he said sincerely to Aerin.
| Aerin (15:08) | Sensing a close to the discussion drawing near, Aerin was already rising from his seat as Kaliato said his farewell. Reaching into his coinpouch - and thankfully finding gil in it still - he set several gilt coins down on the table. "I will by the rounds on the morrow then. I insist." It was all coming out of Lady Eseldrid's accounts at the Bank of Coneria anyway and has been provided for just this reason. Well. Sort of. "Rest well and .. good luck." He gave the mage a sly grin as his eyes slipped passed to the barmaid and back again. "I'm going to take a rest as well. Look for me here if you like. I should be in Figaro for a while yet. The task I have to complete is... arduous." And with that he half-hobbled to the bar to inquire about a room.

| Sat Jun 7 |
| Zephius (20:58) | Clangs of metal against metal could be heard as the blacksmith strives to shape a small knife-like weapon on his forge. He hammers on it for the last time and using a pair of tongs, dunks it into a wooden barrel of ice water as a 'hiss' sound fills the air. Zephius leaned against the wall in a corner, watching the everyday ritual the blacksmith performs. Grabbing the two weapons by their blades, handing it over to Zephius handle first. Zephius examined the pair of katars carefully. They were beautifully crafted, tribute to the reputation of Figaro's renowned blacksmith. Paying a hefty sum of gil to the blacksmith, he felt his gil pouch considerably lighter, but gained something worthwhile in return.
| Zephius (21:08) | Zephius was not without aim as he walked out of the shop, back towards the junction of the city. He reckoned he needed a weapon that would be useful in close-quarters since his katana and ninjato would be in the way were it be in a small or narrow room, limiting movement. Hence, the dual katars had proved to be answers to that solution. With that problem out of the way, he had another goal at hand, to find the missing doppelgangers. It had been 3 days since he last heard anything about them from the innkeeper. Yet, since the rooms were so many, he could'nt possibly searched every room in the whole inn, even with Azelie's help. "Could they be searching for something in the desert? Thats their purpose?" Zephius thought to himself. Deciding to push his luck a little, Zephius headed over to the stables, deciding to rent a chocobo out in the desert to do a little searching. Maybe he'll find something.
| Anatsol (21:12) | "Not that I really care about your well being, but you really shouldn't go alone." The child suddenly said, strolling next to the ninja as if he had been there the entire time. "Unless.. Are you giving up?" Anatsol said. He had a curious way of starting a conversation. Most of the time, it started with and ended with a bang.
| Zephius (21:18) | Zephius nearly jumped as a voice spoke suddenly beside him. Paranoia took over and he turned quickly towards the source, his katars flashing out in an instant. As he recognized who the speaker was, he relaxed and sheathed his katars with a sigh. "Don't do that." He said in a half-annoyed half amused tone. "You mean giving up on the doppelgangers? Nope. Not yet. But its been days since we had any news of them. While no news usually is a good thing, I'm worried. It might mean they're using the time they have hiding from us to cook something up. I don't like the silence. I suppose you have news?" Zephius asked hopefully as he glanced around, hopefully non of the guards would be interested in a ninja who had his weapons out against a child seconds ago.
| Anatsol (21:21) | "No. Just because I decide to show up doesn't mean I have something important to do. I'm a kid, after all." Anatsol responded, crossing his arms and eyeing Zephius. "If you're serious about going out there, I'll go with you. You may be able to handle one, but definately not two of them."
| Zephius (21:31) | "Your help would be welcomed I guess." Zephius looked at Anatsol intently. "We need to go to the stables and get a chocobo. It'll help us to search the desert easier." Zephius pointed in the direction of the stable and walked towards it. "While I know I proved to show wavering loyalty to any side, I hope you'll believe that I'm devoting my strength to defeating the doppelgangers and nothing more. Heck, I'm doing this for free." Zephius explained with a hopeful look, hoping to gain the trust of the mysterious child. No matter who he is, he's powerful almost like an immortal. It'll be wise to gain him as an ally and not a foe in any case.
| Anatsol (21:36) | "I don't need one. I have other means of transportation. Good luck." Anatsol said, then gradually faded away.
| Zephius (21:40) | "I hate it when he does that. I can disappear too, but not until that extent." Zephius mumbled to himself as he walked into the stable. The stablemaster greeted him warmly, asking Zephius for a preference to the type of chocobo he wants to rent.. or buy. "One of your best chocobo that can navigate its way back here." The stablemaster nodded sagely as he directed Zephius to a sturdy yellow male chocobo and stretches out his hand, awaiting payment. Zephius paid the man in full for rent for a few days, and rode the chocobo out of the stable and of the castle. Coming to a stop outside the castle, he looked around him and wondered. "Now, which way to go?"
| Zephius (21:47) | Zephius peered around him intently unsure of which direction to go. He decided to head west for starters and see if he can find anything there since south just leads the way back to Coneria.
| Athalos (22:01) | finished his tour of Figaro. He had gone there for a look at their tools. He had always heard of their power but never saw them for himself. He wasn't really that impressed. A bit disgruntled, he decided to leave Figaro and do something else.

| Zephius (22:11) | Zephius turned to look at Figaro one last time before heading out on his journey to the western land of sand. It was the only sanctuary in the desert and Zephius had best wanted to look at it one last time. Who knows how long will it be before he finds a comfortable and soft bed to sleep on? His sight however, shifts to a figure in chainarmor emerging from the gates of Figaro. Zephius turned his chocobo around and stopped, gazing with curiousity at the man who had emerged from the western gates just like him.
| Athalos (22:18) | Athalos stepped outside the gates of Figaro and scanned the area. The hot desert sun was beating down on his black armor when he noticed a man that was riding a chocobo had stopped and turned the bird around to get a good look at him. The two said nothing for what felt like a long time.
| Zephius (22:24) | Zephius could not remember the guards of Figaro garbed in the gear this man was wearing. Black chain armor, black shirt over it. This was not the type of gear that any ordinary Figaro guard would wear. Zephius looked at the man and said, "Going somewhere? There's nothing beyond western lands of Figaro, save for a full skulls and bones of the foolish ones seeking new lands and treasures."
| Athalos (22:27) | "Hmm..." Athalos thought for a moment. "Well I don't really have any specific destination in mind. I guess I'm just going where life takes me. Where might you be headed? If it's as dangerous as you make it sound, perhaps I can provide some assistance." Athalos looks down at his sword. "Been a while since I've used this."
| Zephius (22:35) | " I'm just patrolling the area, keeping it safe. Nothing interesting enough to warrant companionship." Zephius hoped the obvious hints would get to this man. In a way, he was'nt lying. He was indeed patrolling the area for signs of the doppelgangers. However, he was'nt about to tell his quest to others. He preferred working along, forever more, he was'nt sure if this man had what it takes to tackle the doppelgangers. Brave indeed but foolish were he to die in combat that was'nt his fight to begin with.
| Athalos (22:42) | Athalos looked at the man, then looked back at Figaro. He wasn't wearing anything like the guards of the city were. He figured he might be a hired hand, but "patrolling" didn't seem like the right word. The man did look tough enough to handle himself, but he couldn't shake the bad feeling he had. He looked back at the man. "Well, if I come across your bones later on, I'll see about sending them to your loved ones. If you have any, that is."
| Revek (22:48) | takes a hit from his hash pipe.
| Zephius (22:54) | Zephius pondered over the man's comments. It sounded much like a challenge or maybe just a test, to see if he would take the bait. Zephius was used to comments like that. Often the predator becomes the prey. Yet... this would be a good chance to test the man and see how skilled he was. He dismouned the chocobo, patting its head softly as it scratched its claws uneasily in the sand. Zephius walked some distance away and then pulled out his dual ninjato. His face changed into anger and he got into a battle stance, " You're mocking me? I'll show you how good I am! En garde!" Zephius charged then straight at Athalos, however taking care not to go at full potential in case he might overdo it and hurt the man.
| Athalos (23:02) | Athalos watched the man dismout his chocobo and assume a battle stance. He grinned and lowered into one himself. After some words the man came charging at him. Athalos yelled his warcry, then with precise timing he rushed his body forward to give the man a sturdy flesh wall to run into.
| Zephius (23:08) | Zephius would have been caught offguard were he caught unaware. However, Zephius was on alert, despite hiding his strength. As the man charged towards him, Zephius used his footing to leap over the man. He grinned as he turned back, getting ready into a battle stance.
| Athalos (23:17) | Athalos skidded to a stop and looked over his shoulder, wiping a few specks of sand from his face. "You're fast. I knew you were no mere patrol guard. You're a ninja, aren't you? Probably hired by the King there to assassinate somebody. Mind you - I don't mind killing, but I highly doubt I am your target. Is it wise to risk your life this way?" Athalos put his hand on his sword. "I doubt we would make a bad team." He pulled his sword out and readied it in case there was more coming from the ninja.
| Zephius (23:20) | "Enough talk! I won't lose to you!" Zephius rushed forward again, the ninjato in his right hand performing a horizontal slash at the sword knight but with restrained strength of course.
| Athalos (23:23) | Seeing the ninja rushing forward again, he gripped his sword with both hands and ran forward also, thrusting the sword directly toward the midsection of the ninja. He figured his sword would reach before the ninja's short blade would.
| Zephius (23:31) | The direction of Zephius's ninjato changed. Knowing from instincts and years of fighting that a longsword would hit him faster than he could hit the sword knight, Zephius sought a defensive style instead. He brought his left-handed ninjato up as well crossing the blades in an X as he blocked the tip of Athalo's longsword inches away from his face. He swung his blades up, breaking the lock as he swung and faced the swordknight, ready for battle again, this time on the defensive.
| Athalos (23:40) | Athalos' longsword sharply rose and got disarmed from him. It tumbled through the air and landed blade down nearby in the sand. Athalos stopped and looked at the ninja for a moment. He saw him in what looked like a defensive stance, so he chuckled and walked over to his sword. Along the way he pulled out a bottle of rum and took a swig from it. Wiping excess rum from his mouth, he says, "You're pretty good. First you go over my head, then my sword does." He took another swig, picked up his sword, and looked at the ninja. "You want a drink? It's pretty good stuff. I looted it off a pirate ship." He sheathed his sword and walked back in front of the ninja, but quite a few paces away. "It's hot as hell out here. How much longer do you want to do this? We should probably get going before someone tells Figaro's guards about our skirmish and we get more than ourselves to deal with."
| Zephius (23:50) | Zephius studied the swordknight intently debating. If that was the best he can do, then the swordknight would have no chance of survival against a doppelganger. Zephius sheathed his ninjatos, and walked past the swordknight to his chocobo while saying, "If thats the best you can do, I suggest you stay inside the city. Where am I going to, you would have absolutely no chance of survival."
| Serendahl (23:53) |
| Sun Jun 8 |
| Athalos (00:04) | "Your over-confidence is your weakness. You insist I stay here for my safety, yet forget I also came here alone. Plus, did I mention I looted an undead infested pirate ship alone just for a bottle of rum? But enough of my skill, you don't want to hear that. Perhaps you understand money better." Athalos pulls out a bag of gil and weighs it in his hand. It looks like it is holding a good sum of the golden stuff. "I can support myself. If I die, I die. I've no qualms with that."
| Zephius (00:20) | Zephius chuckled softly to himself, "Heh Heh Heh, you think your bag of gil can get you anywhere. A fool's greed. Your abilities are commentable but its not enough. What I'm facing is so powerful that it'll require all my skills to defeat them. And if you can't beat me, you can't beat them." Zephius stood in front of the chocobo now but faced the sword knight, arms folded.
| Athalos (00:32) | "I didn't beat you because that's not my intention. Besides, you didn't beat me either. If youre as powerful as you say, you would have no problems dispatching me into the next life. Why keep me alive if you do not need me? You say it will take -all- your skills alone, so won't it be beneficial to have an extra set of skills readily available?" Athalos looks at the ninja a moment and begins to walk away. He pulls out his bottle of rum and takes another swig as he walks. "But I cannot force you."
| Zephius (00:40) | "One day you'll find tasks that will be requiring your skills to complete, but this one is not your destiny. Till then, keep your blade sharp and keep your skills honed." With that, he climbed on the chocobo and sped off in the distances towards the desert lands.
| Zephius (18:00) | Zephius was in deep thought on the return journey back to Figaro. Having travelling for 2 days on the chocobo, even searching more than 5 miles in the western lands of Figaro, he found nothing that could suggest strange occurences. The desert was huge indeed. How was he to find the doppelgangers if he had no solid leads? Sighing, he grabbed hold of the chocobo firmly, to prevent falling off as it sped across the desert.
| Zephius (18:08) | Everything looked peaceful as the chocobo ran, not with joy perhaps but the thought of water. Zephius did not starve it of cause. He had shared some of his water and some seeds he had prepared for the trip. But the desert was as hot as ever and even chocobos could'nt last long. The majestic castle of Figaro loomed into view from a distance and Zephius was anticipating the refreshments he would get once safely inside the city's walls.
| Zephius (18:17) | The guards at the gates nodded as Zephius came to a stop near them, and opened the gates without a word. Zephius dismounted from his chocobo leading the weary bird slowly back to the stable. Zephius could feel his body heat rising as the coolness of the area tingled his skin, which Zephius was sure, would be tanned and red at least. Returning the joyful bird to its nest, Zephius emerged from the stable, making sure his first goal was to hit the inn for water himself and a cold cold bath.

| Tue Jun 10 |
| Anarururu (13:16) | Sitting at the counter at The Drunken Dragon, Anarururu looks around catiously, trying to keep her belongings safe from anyone who might try to take them.
| Vetic (13:20) | The dwarf sat at his usual place at the Drunken Dragon. He was in thought over the past occurances, or lack thereof. He went to Figaro in hopes of securing another ale contract, but was basically unsuccessful. He grabbed at a mug and went to drink, but set it down amidst the empties on the bartop. After a couple seconds of searching, Vetic finally found the full mug and took a good pull.
| Anarururu (13:23) | Noticing the drinking drawf, Anarururu chuckles, slighltly ammused that he kept picking up empty mugs befor finding the one he wanted, "Salutations, there... how are you?" she calls to him.
| Vetic (13:24) | Giving the girl a glance, the dwarf grins and replies, "Aye, I be good. An yerself?"
| Anarururu (13:27) | Anarururu nods, "A little thirsty, but in good health," she says, in the hopes of getting a free drink, lacking money to get her own.
| Vetic (13:28) | "Well dat ain' a good t'ing now is it! Ey Gus! I be needin anudda an go 'head 'n give dis 'ere girl a drink on me tab." Vetic hollared over to the bartender, Gus, who shook his head a bit and went to work filling another mug of ale for the dwarf. He walked down the bar to the girl and asked, "So what will you be having?"
| Anarururu (13:31) | To Anarururu's delight, she got her wish, "A mug of ale on the rocks," she requests. Looking over to the drawf, "I'll repay you when I can."
| Vetic (13:33) | "Bah! Ya dunnae 'ave ta pay me back. A Dwarf cannae call 'imself a dwarf if'n 'e be lettin' people go wit'out dirnks!" he grinned wider as Gus set down the mug before him. "T'anks Gus." He said as Gus went to filling another mug of ale, giving the dwarf a nod. A couple moments later a fresh mug of ale is placed before Anarururu.
| Vetic (13:33) | "So, what be yer name Lass? I be called Vetic."
| Anarururu (13:35) | With that question, she smiles "I'm Anarururu Kitsume, pleasure meeting you, Vetic," taking her mug and drinking from it, gulping down half of it before taking a breather.
| Vetic (13:39) | "It be good ta mee'cha Anarururu. So wha' be bringin' yas ta Corneria?" The dwarf grabs up his mug and proceeds to down the contents in 3 gulps.
| Anarururu (13:40) | With that question, Anarururu frowns, "money I'm flat broke..." taking her ale in smaler sips now.
| Vetic (13:41) | "Well wha' kinda work are yas good at?" The dwarf scratches his beard as he thinks.
| Anarururu (13:42) | Anarururu chuckles, "Song and Dance," taking a sip, "Not much to earn with..."
| Vetic (13:44) | "Hmm..." Vetic thinks a bit more. "Well, are yas good at speakin' afore others den? Cuz I be needin' someone ta od a job fer meh...."
| Anarururu (13:46) | Anarururu smiles, "Really!? What is it? I'll do my best," taking quite the swig, "I promise."
| Vetic (13:47) | "Well, I be werkin' fer King Giott 'o da Dwarven Caves. We be tryin' ta set up trade wit' all da towns abovegroun'. Right now we be tryin' ta set up an agreemen
| Vetic (13:48) | "Well, I be werkin' fer King Giott 'o da Dwarven Caves. We be tryin' ta set up trade wit' all da towns abovegroun'. Right now we be tryin' ta set up an agreemen' wit' da king 'o Figaro. Ya be thinkin' dat yas c'n do dat?"
| Anarururu (13:50) | thinks, "Hmmm... I can try... But what should I say?" taking a soft sip. She had never got a request like this before.
| Vetic (13:53) | "Well, firs' yas be needin' ta get an audience wit' da King. Den yas be needin' ta inform 'im dat King Giott be lookin' ta open more trade wit' his town. If'n da King be wantin' ta 'ear more den you'll be needin' ta give 'im da contract dat Giott 'imself wrote up." Vetic reaches down into his sack hanging at his waist, digging around for a moment. he pulls out a sealed document with the sigil of the Dwarves melted in place. "Den he opens it, gives 'er a read, den tells ya dat 'e be needin' ta t'ink on it. Den yas be stayin' in Figaro on da King's tab 'til 'e gives ya an answer. It be simple as dat."
| Anarururu (13:57) | She takes the contract, "Ah... so I bring this to Figaro..." Her new expression was obvious of wondering how to get from point 'A', The Drunken Dragon, to point 'B', Figaro, a place she's never been before.
| Vetic (13:59) | The dwarf hmms a moment, then takes back the contract and stuffs it back in his sack. "I'll jus' be keepin' dis til we go ta Figaro. Until den let's take care 'o some drinkin'!"
| Anarururu (14:05) | She nods, "Awright, sounds like a plan!" bringing her empty mug to her mouth, chuckling, "Heh... I never let go of my mug, but I still brought it to my mouth empty," ammused by even her own mistakes. She puts down the mug, "I guess I'll be sitting this one out..."
| Vetic (14:07) | "Bah! No one be sittin' out when dere's a dwarf involved! Anudda roun' Gus!" Vetic waved at Gus, putting up 4 fingers after his attention is obtained. Moments later 2 fresh mugs of a dark, wheat-based ale are set before the Dwarf, another 2 set before Anarururu. Vetic takes up one and raises it to the girl in a toast, "To lots 'o gil an even more ale!"
| Anarururu (14:10) | She smiles, clanging mugs gently with Vetic, "To Ale and gil!" bringing her new mug to her mouth, drinking happily, now friends with the drawf.
| Duwn (19:31) | Being new to Coneria, Dawn Firgo was trying to see if there was somewhere she could stay, but the poor Clavat wasn't geeting any useful information, except where she can't stay...
| Calvin (19:35) | Calvin took hopped off the aircraft and his first step into Coneria. I took him a moment to steady himself. He never had gotten used to flying and only did so because it was the most efficient and comfortable way to travel long distances. After he considered himself suitable to walk he took a few swift steps and walked out of the Redwings office and into the open air
| Duwn (19:38) | Dawn Firgo was still in the square, but noticing the Air Ships arrival, decided to head south, "S'cuse me... Does anyone know a place I can stay, here...? ... Anyone?" walking along the street.
| Calvin (19:45) | Calvin peer'd left and then peered right "Which way..? Which way should I go?" To his right he could see people wandering about their business, small stores, a rather large fountain and what looked like a small army of guards. To his left there was much less another pair of stores and a long road to the southern gates of the city that kept the forest from invading civilization. The decision perplexed Calvin for much longer than it would a normal person, after failing to reach the desirable conclusion he flipped a coin and turned right and into the mindless mass of people.
| Kabot (19:48) | crouched on top of the Drunk Dragon Inn of Coneria surveying the lay of the city. Coming to this city was not his choice, the brotherhood he belonged to had chosen a target for him to eliminate. Having only a name and a description Kabot covered the city searching, waiting and watching. "This is getting to be tiresome. If only they had given me more information." He said through clenched teeth. Tail swishing and ears twitching the Ronso slipped off the roof into the alley behind the inn without a second thought.
| Kabot (19:49) | crouched on top of the Drunk Dragon Inn of Coneria surveying the lay of the city.
| Duwn (19:50) | As Dawn Firgo headed down the street, she notices calvin and attempts to make her way to him, "S'cuse me, sir... Do you know of some where I can stay?" her farming clothes quite different from the clothes of the city folk, and she finds it difficult to manuver the crowd, who keep bumping her chocobo shield, "Oh, sorry... excuse me... pardon me..." trying to move in and out of the crowd.
| Aleister (19:54) | The most recent target of Aleister's affection was a young man with curling auburn hair and dimples in his cheeks that carried the faintest hint of red in them. This was a surprise to Aleister considering that the body was lifeless and as cold as a gravestone. "Judicandus Necritose!" he commanded with a wave of his delicate hand. For a moment, the body seemed to lift of its own accord, the veins stoked with intense heat as the pulse of the magic beat through them. Then, as if enveloped in the heat of a thousand suns, the corpse burst into eerie blue flame that winked out a moment later, leaving ash and bone to fall to the ground. "Oh my!" the mage tittered softly and turn away. "Another failure. Tsk tsk." His heels clicked on the cobblestone as he made his way out from the alleyway and into the town square from the south.
| Calvin (19:57) | Calvin noticed the woman before she addressed him, how could he not, her cloths, her hair, her entire attire stood out like an elephant in a sheep herd. Yet he was still surprised when she looked straight at him and started talking, so surprised that it took him a moment to comprehend what she was saying. "CHello Ma'm how may I help you?" asked with a smile.
| Kabot (19:59) | Walking with all of the deadly grace of his race Kabot glided through the pocket in the crowd he always created when walking the city. His dark red fur made him an oddity even in a city filled with funny looking people. "Worthless people. Always scrambling about. Damn "The Teacher". Sending me here." Kabot muttered while issuing a low growl. Stalking into the town square the Ronso lifted his muzzle and sniffed the air. Ears perking up with the sounds of the square a wicked grin spread across his face. "I think I'll have some fun." Easing the massive nodachi strapped across his back in it's loops.
| Duwn (20:02) | Finally making it to Calvin, Duwn Firgo smiles "I need a place to stay till I can buy a house... Do you know of somewhere I can stay? I'll pay rent, work, do chores... I just don't trust the streets of a city." she looks up, noticing Calvin looking at her neon pink hair, "do I have something caught in my hair?" unused to the attention it was getting.
| Dramid (20:07) | Getting used to the city by now, the bald man doesn't seem to stand out as much as he used to. Still hearing all the voices as he does tends to toll on a person, so Dramid decides to head to the flower shop, the one place with less noise than the rest of the city. Looking around, he sees a rare desert lily that used to grow by his village. Looking twords the flower gal, 'How much for the lily?' She takes a second to consider the price, '15 gold coins.' He reaches into his bag and pulls out the coins. Handing the money to her, he takes his flower back into the market, admiring it's beauty.
| Calvin (20:11) | "N..No, no you don't. I was justadmiring yes admiring.. Your hair. As to your questing, Im sorry but I am myself not from this city, but if you like I could assist you in finding somewhere temporal to stay until you find more permanent lodging" Calvin peered over the crowed until he found what he was looking for. "Ah yes, look a sign directing us towards the residential area of the town, I guess if I will also eventual need to find a place to rest. Shall we?".
| Aleister (20:13) | Brushing back a short lock of silver hair nonchalantly, the sinister mage pulled a small crystal from the pouch at his side, staring into the facets blankly. The crystal began to vibrate and glow softly, giving off the faintest hum. A moment later, the gem darkens. Placing the philospher's stone back into the pouch, he looked up just in time to spot the hulking, red Ronso as the beastly form made its way down the avenue. The citizens of Coneria gave him a wide berth, and rightly so. "Well now, isn't this a surprise..." he uttered to himself, leaning up against the wall to watch. With a flicker of his finger, the mage crafted a tiny ball of shadow that danced about his fingers for a moment, idlying playing before evaporating a brief moment later. "No. No. Nothing so public." He giggled softly.
| Duwn (20:15) | Duwn Firgo frowns, "How far from here... is there work where you live?" she walks with calvin, "Hmm... perhaps you're right......" looking at the group of people spreading away from Aleister, "Is he important?" pointing him out.
| Kabot (20:20) | Taking his paw from the hilt of his nodachi, Kabot glared through the crowd, trying desperately to find his intended target. "Where could you be my dearly soon to be departed prey. What the..." Kabot looked down at his massive chest to where his crucifix necklace was hanging. "Well well well. It seems someone is toying with a bit of magic. Finally...Some fun. I wonder where this little mage could be." Returning his feline eyes back to the crowd now searching for the mage that caused the disturbance.
| Calvin (20:23) | Calvin turned swiftly to see what his new acquaintance was pointing out. His smile vanished as he analyzed the situation that was sure to unfold before him. He looked at the sinister mage and then at the dangerous looking ronso. "It is not safe here." he continued "I don't know honestly, but he is certainly not someone to be underestimated, neither is that one" He said as he pointed towards the agile ronso.
| Duwn (20:25) | Duwn Firgo frowns, "Then where shall we go? I'm not good in combat yet... I'm a farmer, not a fighter..." she gets closer to calvin, "I might be good with a kitchen knife..." Implying that if worse comes to worse, she'll count on him to save her sorry little ass.
| Dramid (20:28) | Gently caressing his flower, Dramid slowly wanders through the crowd twords the fountain. Once he reaches the bench he leans his sword against the stone and slowly places the pot on the bench before taking a seat himself. Left hand in the fountain, he cocks his head to the right and just stares blankly at the flower.
| Aleister (20:32) | The mage's fingers stilled as the crowds seemed to draw away from the area. Either his small display of magic or the presence of the Ronso was the most likely cause, but either way it seemed to have pitted the two against each other quite unexpectedly. While the Ronso was a formidable figure, Aleister was slight and girlish. "Greetings, friend," he said coyly, flashing a pair of long lashes at the red-hued Ronso. Whether the nodachi looked intimidating or not was not apparent by the smooth cast of his features.
| Zephius (20:35) | Most of the crowd drew away from the area, including a black hooded figure with a nodachi strapped to his back. Blend in with the crowd they say. Zephius was back in Coneria, despite his need to stay in Figaro. His purpose was to replenish his stock of bomb ingredients and throwing weapons. However, he would still have time to enjoy this little show before the Golden Dawn come to end this. Heck, if the ronso was good, he might even see little fireworks. However, pitting 2 against 1, that would remain to see if the ronso ninja had the abilities to handle the tough odds.
| Kabot (20:37) | Looking squarely at the frail and almost girlish thing on the other side of the opening created by the crowd Kabot let issued a very low growl. "What the hell....What do you want hume? I have no time for games or is it just another jib at my fur? Well speak up. I have things to be about." Tail twitching at being called out in the middle of a crowd. Claws reflexively retracting and extended as they normally did when aggrivated.
| Calvin (20:39) | Knowing that he was no match for the assassin or the mage Calvin tried to take a step back to put some distance between him and the altercation but the crowd behind him held him place. It seems that the guards had either yet to notice the situation or didn't care, either way they were presently of no help. He tried to say a reassuring word or two to his companion but none came to mind. In the end talking was not Calvin's forte. Thus he watched in silence at the two individuals.
| Dramid (20:42) | Time passes and yet he still doesn't even blink. Slowly Dramid brings his hand from the fountain to give water to his new friend. The crowd begins their chatter as they part for the pair. Not even bothered by the desturbance, he calmly grabs his flower and sword and wanders right through the center of the gap in the crowd. Stopping directly between the Ronso and the mage, he finally takes his glance off of the flower. Looking first to his right, seeing the ronso, than to his left, seeing a familiar mage.
| Duwn (20:42) | Duwn Firgo thought it best, since she couldn't back up, and felt the need to protect Calvin, even if she was poor at combat, drew her Feather Blade and Chocobo Shield, holding them at her sides, also at a loss for words...
| Aleister (20:46) | "Tut tut. No need to raise your voice now. I didn't mean to offend at all. It was merely a greeting." At his hip, the mage felt the philosopher's stone come to life again. It was a sign of his waxing powers. In the sky above, Tali'Kal hung ominously large against the clouds, although its pale face was almost invisible in the blue sky. "No need to be a fussypants about it." He scrached at his ear lightly. From the corner of his vision, the magus watched as a somewhat-familiar face wandered right into the void between the Ronso and himself. The focused power of the philosopher's stone hummed a moment more and then dimmed. "Oh my. You're that poor chap from the Dandy Dragon Inn. Or was it Dreamy? Delicious?"
| Zephius (20:50) | Zephius watched the scene intently as it continued to unfold itself, only 4 people remaining. Where has the female warrior gone he was'nt sure but it has'nt hurt the view one bit. "Get on the fight already. Show your skills!" Zephis thought to himself.
| Kabot (20:53) | Kabot glared at the completely shaven man wandering inbetween the person across the way and himself. Claws extented he dug them into the heels of each paw drawing trickles of blood from each. 'Why must these useless humes always step in between some when a job needs to be done.' Kabot thought to himself as his ears began to twitch and his tail swayed back and forth. Completely ignoring the crowd and the close at hand guards. "From the looks of you I'd say you're either a mage or a harlot. Whichever the case may be I care not. Speak what you want or be gone." Kabot called over the balding and shiny head of the dunce that wondered between himself and the flambouyant thing on the other side.
| Calvin (20:55) | Calvin briefly looked around at the collection of characters that had gathered around He turned to speak to his nameless companion "This s." but there was another face where the she had stood. He scanned the crowd for the mass of pink hair but it was nowhere to be found. "I guess she decided it was best to be gone". He quickly turned his attention back to the events unfolding in front of him.
| Dramid (21:00) | Ignoring the strangely colored ronso, Dramid turns his attention twords the familiar mage. 'Ah, it's you again. I was wondering where I saw you before.' Glancing around, noticing the circle of the crowd around the ronso and the mage finally, muttering to himself 'Oh, I'm interupting something. It seems so.' As he begins to walk next to the mage to get out of the middle of empty circle, he continues 'Perhaps we need to look before we speak. Silly ronso for causing a disturbance.'
| Aleister (21:04) | The heat of the stone in his pouch suddenly became a very tangible thing as the mage's head flicked from Dramid back to the Ronso across the avenue. "Harlot!? That's quite the accustion coming from some...thing I have never met before." Shadows played in his lavender eyes for a moment. However, the slight flush of his cheeks was the only sign that the magus was ired. However, the bald knight standing square in the middle of the heated argument suddenly turned toward Aleister. "Me again? I highly doubt we've met before." His tone was icy. Of course, most young men that made acquaintance with the magus didn't live out the day. "Oh. Oh! Yes, the man from the Daffodil Dancer Inn. Yes.. I remember now. You were the swooner." He tittered lightly.
| Kabot (21:14) | Starring at the person across the Ronso gave a little smirk. "Ah I apologize. I'm more of what people call 'impolite'. Let me retract my former statement. I meant to say a bed preformer." Kabot gave a sarcastic grin. Keeping an eye on the bald swordsman the Ronso began to scan the crowd for potential threats.
| Calvin (21:19) | The hour of his exit was fast approaching, but Calvin refused to turn his back and miss the curious and slightly humorous interaction between the Ronso and the unusual duo, if you could even call them that. As the Ronso scanned the crowd, Calvin decided that he was better off not attracting any attention, and seeing as his attire moved against that strategy he turned and forced his way though the crowd. "My time will come, but today is not the day"
| Dramid (21:21) | He nods a few times before realizing what the mage said, 'I believe It was the Drank Drunk Dragon or someting Inn.' Slowly looking over his shoulder twords the Ronso, than to the crown he seems to be interested in, 'A friend of yours? Or just your next flirt?'
| Aleister (21:22) | The magus pursed his lips tightly, the color draining from his cheeks. For a moment, the smoldering heat at his fingertips caused the air to ripple and shimmer as the heat began to give life to the beginnings of a flame. But before it could be drawn into being, the heat feeding it dimmed and went cool. "Think what you want, stranger. I have little use for you anyway." Truth be told, Aleister wasn't averse to using his... bedroom talents.. to his advantage. Turning toward the knight, Aleister cocked his head to one side just enough to scan the man's face. What he saw there drew his lips into a thin line as he sighed softly. "Must all the world be so cruel?" Whether that was in comment to the man's face or his words was not apparent.
| Zephius (21:23) | "If you three are going to resort to violence, I suggest you chose another place unless you're eagerly getting into prison. If you're going to stage a war of words, do that at the Drunken Dragon Inn." Zephius spoke as he emerged from the crowd, lowering his hood as he spoke. "You're scaring all the innocent town folks here."
| Aleister (21:29) | Turning toward Zephius suddenly, Aleister smirked. "That would entail that either your... not a townsfolk... or not innocent." He seemed to mutter something softly to himself before turning his attention back to bald knight at his fore. "Yes, that was definitely where I remember you from. The Dehydrated Dwarf Inn." He nodded half to himself. "The prophet. That's right."
| Kabot (21:35) | Kabot gave a slight twitch as his crucifix necklace began to vibrate slightly. "I'd kindly ask you not to try anything in this public setting. I have no time to slaughter these guards." Getting exactly the reaction he wanted Kabot gave a sly grin and retracted his claws from the heel of his palms and brought one up to his lips and gave it a slight lick. 'Loi I'm getting tired of these humes and their idiocy. "Teacher" if you ever send me here again I'll slaughter you myself.' Kabot thought to himself. "Ah it seems you have a new friend come to play with you. You there with the helmet and flacon crest. Come forward and speak if you have something to say to these fine people or myself."
| Dramid (21:37) | 'A prophet? I think you may have me mistaken for someone else. I am just on a person quest... which reminds me. Who am I looking for again?' muttering to himself 'I believe it was a man.... maybe.' Turning his attention to the new face in the circle. 'A fight? Oh no. There no be a fight. A fight would anger the gods. And they must not be angered.'
| Zephius (21:44) | Zephius turned and looked in kabot's direction. An imbecile, addresing him with the look of a high noble. Zephius was sure that this ronso here was not. "I suggest you leave then. Your presence is already an attention and I have no need to enhance the area with mine." Turning to the mage he spoke in a cold tone, "You are no more innocent than I am, mage. I'm not the one casting magic with guards around."
| Aleister (21:48) | "Tossing it around is an overstatement, friend. I was merely readying my defenses if the ned came. However, I trust that the worthy Golden Dawn guards would have arrived before such tactics became necessary." The philsopher's stone was now dead cold again. "Looking for a man..." A slight smile rose upon his lips again. "Aren't we all? I'm sure there are plenty over at the Dandelion Duck Inn."
| Kabot (21:49) | Kabot glared at the somewhat haughty man. "So sure of yourself are you my friend? Maybe one day I will give you a show." Tail twitching, the ronso glanced back to the mage. "Maybe I'll give you a show too mage. One you'd probably appreciate in a more...private setting." The Ronso let out a feral growl and winked at the mage. "But I have things I have to do before such a time. Oh look and here come the guards. It's long past my time to leave. Remember mage. We're not finished here. Some time in the near future I hope to meet you in a dark alley so that I can give you what you seem to want so badly." With that the Ronso leapt over the closet man nodachi clanking in it's mithril hoops on his back.
| Zephius (21:54) | "Showoff" was all that Zephius had as a reply before he turned back, walking down the south road to take the airship back to Figaro. It rather had been a disappointment to him. No fights, no fireworks, nothing. "Even Azelie pulls more excitement than this." He thought as he entered the majestic Red Wings building.
| Dramid (21:55) | Dramid watched as the ronso somehow gracefully jumped through the crowd as the guards closed to settle the situation the only way they know how, swords drawn. 'It seems that our presence here is unwelcomed at this time.' turning to face the remaining mage, 'Go to the Dank Dandelion Inn if you wish. I have personal matters to attend to myself.' He clutches his flower close to him as he wades through the crowd twords the west. Muttering as he goes, 'I know I need to find him. You still haven't told me why he is needed tho. I need more information otherwise I'm chosing the mage and letting him decide what he is needed for. He seems better informed than you.'
| Vetic (21:57) | Whistling slightly the Dwarf was out walking the streets of Coneria. He reeked of booze, having spent the majority of the day drinking to success with his new business partner. He came upon the center of town, moving to the edge of the fountain. The dwarf climbed onto the edge and dunked his head into the water, flipping it out and shaking water everywhere around him. He grabs his beard and squeezes it, letting the water pour back out into the pool.
| Azelie (21:58) | The desert was cold and unforgiving, not to mention rather lonely. Azelie still hadn't managed to smooth things over at the inn, and the only choice she had was to camp out. She thought about returning home to Coneria, but she had a mission, and was deadset on finishing it, right this time. "Fracking doppelganger. I knew she was going to screw me over again." She grumbled, trying her hardest to keep the fire going as she huddled in her blanket and cloak.
| Aleister (22:08) | The magus looked a bit stunned by the sudden turn of events as the ninja offered his future challenge before vanishing so suddenly. "I don't know whether to laugh or take a bath." He snickered bemusedly to himself before lifting a small ornament stuffed with crushed lavender to his nose, breathing in the scent deeply. "Ah, much better." Strangely, there was an 'R' emblazoned onto the ornament. As Dramid spoke again, the dainty mage leaned back against the wall and glanced over the sword knight curiously. Of course, stranger things have been seen in this city before and stranger things are sure to be seen in days to come.

| Duwn (12:22) | After getting lost in the crowed the other day, Duwn Firgo was looking for shelter again. Her neon pink hair is a mess, and she looks quite disgruntled. It's quite obvious she couldn't sleep after her detour, "Hello... Do you... How about you? Anyone have a place I can stay at? I'll work..." she says in a sleepy, somewhat disgruntled manner to any who pass her by.
| Zael (20:10) | Zael found himself in the hanging fang inn. He had been trying to gether information on his own past but has been thus far unsucessful. "Wonder what Kailadan didnt want me to find out my past for... I may just have to squeeze that information outta him soon enough if all the leads end up bringing me nothing." He said to himself as he was sitting in his room eating breakfast.

| Thu Jun 12 |
| Anarururu (14:40) | Anarururu Kitsume leaves The Drunken Dragon, having her fill of drinks on the Drawfs tab. She seems sober... on the outside... she walks straight and seems to have clear vision. She starts heading up the street towards Royal Way.
| Fri Jun 13 |
| Zephius (20:30) | Grains of sand flew in the air as the wind blew gently. The castle of Figaro stood majestically in the middle of desert as if nothing can wear it down. A mile to the south away, near the forest, Zephius there, practising his katana and katar. It had been days since ever the news of doppelgangers. Zephius HAD to do something to evict his boredom while waiting. Nearby, lay his duffelbag against a rock, a purple materia on top of it. Zephius had wondered upon the use of the purple chocobo. He remembered it was called a chocobo lure, bought a long long time ago in Doma. Apparently, the lure could attract any chocobos to you at will, but Zephius had never seen it work. He finished the last of his strokes with a "Ha!" and walk back to where his duffelbag was, picking up the materia and looked at it closely. It looked nothing more than a purple ball, shiny and looked ordinary.
| Revek (20:30) | spits on Zephius.
| Zephius (20:45) | Striding into the forest, Zephius set up a campfire, preparing his lunch for midday. It was a simple meal of berries and herbs, that he had gathered. As he sat looking at the fire, he began to wonder the philosophy of life. He had set out on a goal that seemed realistically impossible to others, and he had achieved many deeds, but to rid the world of evil was impossible for a mortal. Perhaps it was time he set a short-term goal and releaed himself from his self-imposed duties. Zephius glanced at the chocobo lure beside him and back at the fire. His senses sounded alarm and he stood up in a flash, drawing his katars out as he turned, hearing noises behind him in the bushes.
| Zephius (21:06) | The 4 green short figures that each emerged had a unique weapon. Zephius observed the first 2 in the lead had a spear and axe, while one in the backrow had a sword and the other wielding 2 daggers. "Weird for goblins to attack travellers in broad daylight, especially near figaro. Are things in the world that desperate now?" Zephius thought. The goblins turned to converse with one another in a language Zephius could'nt understand. Zephius stood there waiting. Whatever the conversation was, it had to be related to him somehow.
| Zephius (21:16) | "Hand over that materia, and all of your items, and we *MIGHT* let you live" The goblin with the axe smirked as he ordered in the common tongue. Zephius snorted to himself. He was so used to threats like this that, he accepted them as an everyday ritual of his life. He considered his options. Glancing at the four, Zephius realised the goblins seemd almost relaxed, not taking up stances. Apparently, they thought Zephius might submit in fear and surrender without a fight. Fools. Zephius decided to go for the goblin with the spear first. Having being reinforced in combat tactics, Zephius knew that the goblin was the easiest target. Once he got into closer range to the goblin than his spear allows, his defenses and offenses would be greatly reduced. Zephius brought his scarf up, masking himself as he gave the middle-finger salute. In a flash he had pulled out six shurikens and threw at with deadly precision at the goblins. Mainly used as distraction, he rushed with great speed at the spear-wielding goblin, aiming to strike him down first.
| Zephius (21:27) | The successfully distraction had the goblins brought up their weapons to dodge the attacks. The shurikens were mostly blocked, except for one or two that got into the arms of the sword-wielding goblin, while the spear-wielding goblin had a new piercing on his right shoulder. Grimacing, he did'nt get to enjoy his new piercing as Zephius was already in range of his spear. Thrusting it out, he could only watch in confusion as Zephius dodged the thrust it easily, stabbing the goblin in his throat. In a soft croak, the goblin slipped to the ground and left the mortal coil of existence.
| Nai (21:31) | The passageways underneath Figaro were cold and covered partially in sand. Dimly burning torches lined the way down to where they would. A female voice echoed down "Stand by." quietly as Misthrall made her way down the passage. A faint humming sound could be heard in the distance, combined with the sound of a hammer forcing togeather metallic plates of some large beast. She stepped quietly over the small piles of stand and looked eagerly foward. "I hope you're ready." she whispered. Whether it was intended for another's ears, that wasn't a certainty. But it was definate that she needed to say it to herself.
| Zephius (21:35) | Rather than standing still and watching the glorious death of the goblin, Zephius switched to his next target, turning to his left. Zephius rushed and then slide elegantly to the ground as the axe missed narrowly his head, hitting the ground with a huge thud. He tripped the goblin to the ground and then somersaulted back to standing position. Zephius stomped on the goblin's crotch and turned, switching to his next target as the goblin went bug-eyed and gave a huge "Ooooowwwwwwwww" as he released his axe and clutched his 'precious' in agony. "Two down, two to go." Zephius thought
| Quinton (21:41) | The sparse patches of sand crunched beneath his shoes as he followed closely behind Misthrall, glancing suspiciously at every shadow as they wove their way through Figaro's underbelly. This was it. They were finally going to accomplish what they had spent months in Figaro doing. "I sure hope so," he mutters aloud, though in response to the person ahead of him or to his own thoughts, he wasn't sure. The faint clanking of a hammer on metal, accompanied by a soft humming, grew louder as they approached their destination.
| Zephius (21:43) | His victory was short-lived however as the sword-wielding goblin had dished out his attack. Zephius could not avoid in time and as he dodged, was cut on his left side, blood beginning to drip. Zephius cursed himself for not being more aware, as the dagger-wielding goblin followed up next with a series of stabs. Zephius could only parry the attacks, while thinking out a counter-move against the goblins left.
| Nai (21:48) | "It'll be worth it." she said, marching down the corridor. The humming suddenly intensified as a small sphere in the darkness began to glow. The glow slid from the sphere and traced itself briefly across a purely metallic beast. "This far outclasses anything they have. It'll be our ultimate weapon for our cause." she said. The corridor quickly switched from a dark mystery to a light at the end of a tunnel, minus the death portion.
| Zephius (21:57) | As the last stab went parried by Zephius, the goblin received a close contact with the ninja's shoulder as he bashed into the goblin, both sent brawling to the ground. The goblin gave a soft "oof" as he bear Zephius's weight, who with years with mental discipline and training, managed to stop himself from seeing stars. He half stood up and took up a stance as he parried blows from the sword-wielding goblin.
| Quinton (22:01) | Merely nodding, Quinton continues down the corridor, barely quelling the growing anticipation he was feeling. If it was better than anything they had... A broad grin flashed across his face before he managed to pull it back, until his face was a mask of tranquility. The dimly lit tunnel grew brighter as the light that he could only assume was their destination illuminated it.
| Zephius (22:05) | The odds were down to 1-on-1 with Zephius having a fair footing with the goblin. He sweftly parried and dodge all of the goblin's sword blows. Digging his right foot in the ground, Zephius swiftly raised his foot up, kicking dirt in the goblin's eyes who yelled with pain. His pain was relieved moments later as his head was lobbed off by Zephius's katars as they slashed in the opposite direction. Zephius turned and faced the remaining dagger-wielding goblin, who was ready for a second round.
| Nai (22:09) | "Initiating test sequence charlie. Clear auxiliaries." the female voice said again. Two white hot flames shot out of the rear just as Misthrall and Quinton made it out of the corridor. There waited below was a black plated airship. Smaller significantly than the Baronian transport ships, for certain, but enough to carry a crew of twenty or more. Atleast, that is how it would appear to someone who had experience with that sort of thing. Misthrall, however, had little outside of what she read. "Look. There. They're testing it out now." she said, looking down into the pit below.
| Zephius (22:13) | As the goblin brought out his dagger in an attempt to stab Zephius, he brought out a silver glaive as he threw it out, at level with the goblin's head. The glaive left a hole in his forehead as it burst out from the back of his head, hitting a tree in its way. Zephius walked over to the last goblin alive with a cold look on his face. Fear was what the goblin experienced last as Zephius punched his katar into his chest near the heart and was alive no more.
| Quinton (22:16) | Quinton rushed over to the pit, leaning precariously over its edge, examining the airship with growing excitement. It wasn't big, but if it was fast, it didn't need to be. And it certainly looked it. He didn't have much experience with airships himself, but he had read several books on them, and this one definitely had potential, to say nothing of whatever 'special' parts they had to come to this sand-blasted city to find. "It's amazing..." he says at last, his voice filled with awe as he takes a step back from the pit.
| Nai (22:19) | "I've opted to call her Sacre Noir. It was the only name that does the ship any justice." she said, leaning over and looking across the pit at the airship. "It should be fully ready sometime tomorrow. Interested in having a ride with it once its done?"
| Zephius (22:20) | Zephius sheathed his katars and looked at his wound. It was not deep but blood still was flowing down his garb. He took out a bandage from his yellow pouch and applied it to his wound. He felt the magical properties of the bandage flowing into his wound as skin closes up slowly but steadily. Zephius then went and retrieved his glaive. Unknown to him, the chocobo lure that laid on his duffelbag near the fire glowed purple. Sheating his glaive, he was about to turn back as he heard a soft "Wark...."
| Quinton (22:22) | Quinton nods, looking to the ship, then to Misthrall. "You'd have to club me over the head and chain me to the castle walls to keep me from going on this thing's maiden voyage. Sacre Noir, yes. That's a good name." He returns his attention to the ship, grinning broadly.
| Zephius (22:27) | Zephius drew his katars as he walked silently to the source of the sound, wary in case there was an ambush again. In a small clearing under a tree, a yellow chocobo was lying on the ground, but in an awkward position. As Zephius edged closer, he could see that one of the chocobo's legs has been ensnared in a trap, rendering it immobile. "Probably one of the goblins's tricks." Zephius thought. He sheathed his katars and edged closer to the bird, which wailed loudly and flapped its wings, obviously frightened.
| Zephius (22:41) | Although Zephius was a traveller for years, and had much knowledge of the wilds, he was no beastmaster. Zephius wondered how to go about helping the poor bird, without making it more terrified than it is right now. "Pain is an emotion that everyone fears." Zephius reasoned with himself. With both his hands, he opened the snare-trap, ignoring the chocobo's terrified wails. Examining the wound carefully, he observed it to be bleeding and a huge gash present. "Im sorry, but I have to do this." Zephius said quietly to the chocobo which seemed to quiet down upon hearing his words. Zephius brought his hands close to the wound as they glowed green. Repeatedly he does this till the wound closed up. He bandaged up the leg and stood back, as the chocobo stood up, gazing upon Zephius quizzically. "Wark?"
| Nai (22:51) | "There's something I'm worried about, though." Misthrall said, looking up to Quinton quietly. "You ever have the feeling you're being watched? Like someone, or something is just waiting for the right moment?" she visibly shivered, then looked at Quinton for his response.
| Raum (22:57) | To the right of Misthrall, an unmistakable, haunting voice spoke softly. "An eerie feeling, to be sure." The man dusted his shoulder off slightly before turning to face the duo. "What exactly would they be waiting for, is the question."
| Zephius (22:57) | "Chocobos like greens. Any greens you got, give it to them. They are crazy about it. Sylkis are the best, and they tame much more easier with that." Recalling what the Figaro chocobo stablemaster had said, Zephius dug around in his brown magical herbs pouch until he pulled out a sylkis green. He edged closer to the chocobo with it dangling until he came face to face with it. The chocobo stood still for a moment, then in a quick snap, gobbling up the sylkis green as it munched on it. A smile crept up Zephius's face, as he stroke its head. "Guess you got a rough time, eh yellow guy? Come on, follow me. Lets get you some food." Zephius beckoned as he walked over to his campfire. "Wark!" The chocobo followed Zephius, walking slowly as it limped slightly.
| Quinton (22:59) | Quinton looks around, peering at their surroundings closely, before nodding slightly. "Yeah, kinda. I'm sure it's nothing, though. I mean, who else knows what we've got down here? I mean, it's not exactly public knowledge, is it? I wouldn't worry about it too much. It'd be stupid to..." He jumps at the sudden appearance of Raum, eyes narrowing at the unfamiliar intruder. "Or maybe not..." he grumbles.
| Nai (23:01) | The highest pitched yelp escaped from Misthrall at the sound of a third person's voice. She nearly lept into Quinton, then exhaled sharply. "Hey. That wasn't funny."
| Raum (23:04) | smirked slightly. "Still playing dressup, are we?" He snickered to himself before circling slowly in place, glancing at the cave-like surroundings, as though he'd never been there before ... but then, of course he'd been there ... he would have had to of walked there, right? "So what are we doing this fine evening? Out for a stroll?"
| Zephius (23:08) | The chocobo lure stayed perfectly still, the glow gone as it remained an ordinary purple ball. Zephius glanced at the chocobo and back at the ball. Was it too much of a coincidence that the chocobo had appeared after the fight with the goblins? Or was this meeting the work of the lure? Shrugging, he kept the lure inside his green pouch as, he began rummaging his duffelbag for food. The chocobo came over and sat down, looking with Zephius in the bag as it cocked its head here and there. "Wark?" "Hmm, these berries. Yea for medical purposes. I don't suppose would serve as food..." Before he could even finish his sentence, the chocobo's beak came down and snap up one of the berries, giving a seemingly excited, "Wark!" "Ouch! Guess you like the berries?" Zephius chuckled. He watched with interest as the chocobo snap up the berries he placed on the ground, flapping its wings occasionally.
| Nai (23:09) | "Take a look." Misthrall relaxed, but tugged out a wrinkle in her skirt at Raum's comment. She motioned down the pit wherein lay a small black airship. "We're watching the final tests of our airship. It's taken us months to get this far, so.. sorry for being a little on edge." she apologized briefly before turning her attention to the airship.
| Quinton (23:10) | Quinton relaxes slightly, the newcomer presenting no apparent threat, though he was still wary. He hadn't heard the man's approach, hadn't felt anything... Whoever he was, he was good. "Do you know this guy, Mist? He seems suspicious," he says quietly, narrowing his eyes even further at Raum, before returning his attention to the airship below.
| Raum (23:14) | Stepping towards the edge, he glanced downwards and muttered, "Impressive." It was quite obvious that he was in no way or form impressed. He cocked his head slightly, "This wouldn't have anything to do with some sort of attack on a certain home of mine that would probably end very badly for those involved ... would it?" He blinked several times towards the woman before arching a delicate eyebrow at Quinton's words and turning to face him, not concerned at all with the question he just asked. "Suspicious?" He smiled, exposing a mouth full of razor sharp teeth. "What would make you think something like that?"
| Nai (23:17) | "Don't worry. He's a friend." she said, placing a hand on Quinton's shoulder before turning her head towards Raum to address him. "Quite the opposite, actually. My intention is to take responsibility for... things. Without becoming a martyr, or hanged terrorist, hopefully." she said.
| Quinton (23:21) | Quinton looks to Raum, then to Misthrall, then to Raum again, before returning his attention to the airship. "He's still suspicious," he mutters.
| Zephius (23:24) | "You should have a name... Hmm.. How about this? These berries are called Rowans.. Since you like them so much, lets called you Rowan?" The chocobo warked twice, as if in approval. Zephius doused the camp fire and stood up, hefting his duffel bag on his shoulder. "I have to go back to Figaro, so nice meeting you. Try not to get caught in a trap again will ya?" Zephius smiled and gave a wave. He turned and walked back towards Figaro. The limping Chocobo did not go away however and followed Zephius. Stopping, Zephius turned and sighed, "Look, you can't follow me around. I hang around trouble, or trouble seems to find me. Go home." The chocobo simply warked loudly, flapping its wings. "Guess you don't take no for an answer, huh?" Zephius was resignated to the fact that the chocobo might follow anywhere, to the ends of the world if necessary. "I guess you could stay at Figaro a few days until your wound is healed." Turning back to Figaro, Zephius walked back towards it, 'Rowan' following him as it seemed almost happy in having a new master.
| Raum (23:24) | Raum spun slightly on his heel to quickly face the woman. "Responsibility? I wasn't aware you knew that word." He glanced towards the airship once again. "What exactly are we ... testing?"
| Nai (23:27) | "Lets say... I had to look the word up a few times." she said, smiling, but bearing a slightly bitter and sad expression. She looked down to the pit. "The engine. They tested it before they mounted it into the frame, but with all of the assembly work that was done afterwards, they had some doubts." The airship sputtered faintly, then the engines came to a dead silence. A woman shouted down at one of the engineers in the pit from one of platforms just below where the three had been standing. "As do I."
| Raum (23:32) | Raum scratched his chin slightly, an inquisitive look placed squarely on his face as he looked onward, seemingly deep in thought. "So we have an airship ... an airship being built in secret ... an airship that has taken months to prepare ... an airship that it not to be used in an attack .... it makes me wonder what this airship is needed for, then."
| Zephius (23:35) | "My, my what a fine breed you have there?" The stablemaster exclaimed as Zephius lead the chocobo back into the stable. "Strong legs, fine wings. good build. And do you know its a male? Male chocobos tend to be sturdier." He nodded his approval as he examined the chocobo head to toe. Zephius shrugged as he leaned against the wall. "I found him in the forest, injured" The stablemaster nodded as he leaned down, looking at the bandaged leg. "It'll heal in no time then. You are welcomed to stable your pet here as long as you like. We have a stable comfortable enough for it." Zephius narrowed his eyes, "Pet? Its no pet of mine. You could help him to recover, thats why I brought it back."
| Quinton (23:36) | Quinton merely nods, arms folded as he watches the proceedings below. "She could very well be the greatest airship in all of Ivalice, you know," he says with a grin. "We're going to save the world with her."
| Raum (23:41) | Raum echoed Quinton's words. "Save the world, he says." He chuckled slightly. "Admirable, to be certain ... but rather presumptions, don't you think? You also didn't answer my question."
| Zephius (23:44) | "My dear boy, you don't know anything about chocobos at all do you?" The stablemaster rubbed his pot-belly while his eyes studied Zephius intently. "Once a chocobo decides to follow you, it will remain a faithful pet to you forever. And its not easy to find one in the wilds. Chocobos are rare breeds nowadays, much less good build like this one. Enjoy your good fortune while it last. I say its still young. Probably about 17 in hume age." "I know what you mean. I'll keep it all right? Chill." Zephius retorted. "I must have mellowed much to keep a chocobo as a pet." He sighed. On the other hand, he reckoned it would'nt be so bad to have a chocobo as a ride. Maybe its a good idea to keep the bird after all. "Hey Rowan, I have to go. Get a good sleep all right? I'll see you in the morning." 'Rowan' warked happily before it turned, being lead away by the stableboy to its new-found home. "And now, for me. I need a bath." Zephius thought.
| Nai (23:45) | ".. More or less, he's right." she added to Quinton's statement. "Atlhough, it's not really quite as romantic as all that." she said, looking from Quinton to Raum. "It isn't meant to attack, but that doesn't mean it isn't outfitted for a fight. Its purpose in this world is the same I hold now. To right some things wronged. Save things that would otherwise be lost. To stay alive, and perhaps help others to do the same."
| Quinton (23:54) | "More or less, yeah. Plus, it looks really awesome," he says with a grin. "If nothing else, it'll be a great way to pick up women."
| Sat Jun 14 |
| Nai (00:00) | "More specifically, we're intending on keeping this a secret until when, or if, a war ever breaks out. This isn't a warship, but it's enough to transport people to safety. If a day calls for it, it and we will fight. But at present, we have no intention in being involved in the war outside of attempts to stop it without the means of tremendous force." Misthrall finally said, looking at Raum.
| Anarururu (09:02) | Anarururu Kitsume heads up Royal way into the town square, looking around at the people passing her by. She defenatly has her own fashion sense, it would seem.
| Vetic (12:33) | "Bah! Where in da 'ell di....." A gruff voice shouted in the Drunken Dragon. Vetic came crawling out from beneath his table carrying a large stew pot, "Allri'ht, now who be t'inkin' dat dey be funny eh? Puttin' a damn pot ova me 'ead while I be sleepin'..." The dwarf grumbled and walked towards the bar, a few patrons snickering at the dwarf's expense. Placing the pot onto the bartop, Vetic climbs into a barstool and waves Gus over, "Som' breakfas' if'n ya could."
| Dominique (12:36) | with a loud kick opens the bar doors, he shouts with a drunken expression on his face "Bar keep some ale for me im in the mood to celibrate" as he pulls up a seat next to the drunken dwarf. " mind if i join you friend he? asks"
| Anarururu (12:38) | Looked about the town square for a while, finding basically little of anything interesting, she decides to head back to The Drunken Dragon. When she walked in, she wasn't too surprised to see her drawf friend there. "Oi! Vetic, how 'bout some breakfast?" still broke, then notices the other member... "Oh... Hello?" she says holding her possions close.
| Vetic (12:41) | "Oi! Now dat dere be a man wit' da roight ider! Gus, bring us a roun' 'o drinks an anudda breakfas' too if'n ya c'n. It'll be on me tab." Vetic roars with laughter, slapping Dominique on the back. "So it be lookin' like you be havin' a good day!" He let his gaze shift to Anarururu, "An' it be good ta see dat yas 'aven' left town yet. I figure we might as well be leavin' fer Figaro sometime soon."
| Anarururu (12:43) | Smiling, Anarururu Kitsume nods, "I can't go leaving my job... It's not lady-like... but then again, niether is being broke... which is why I need the job in the first place..." sulking abit before taking a seat.
| Dominique (12:44) | while pulling on his wiskers dominique stands up and introdues him self to the lady that just came in. hello there my name is dominique, how are you this fine mornin, im just celibratin a fine nights work... and thought ide have a drink and then i met this good fellow vetic. as he looks at the drunken dwarf on a stool at the bar.
| Dominique (12:47) | as he sits back down on the stool the turns to the lady and sayes " care to join us?"
| Anarururu (12:50) | Anarururu smiles, nodding at Dominique, "I've already sat down, and do you mind if I call you Dommy? My name's Anarururu Kitsume." she places her parasol at her side, gripping it tightly should anyone attempt to steal it.
| Dominique (12:52) | thinking for a moment he says " dommy..... i guess that is alrignt... just dont call me mousy.... that got old really quick." as he smiles at her
| Vetic (12:53) | The dwarf cast a sidelong glance at the Burmecian, giving a slight shrug. Gus arrives and sets down two plates of food before Vetic and Anarururu, as well as a pair of mugs placed before the Dwarf and the Burmecian. Gus then looks to the lady and smiles, "So what'll you be having to drink?"
| Dominique (13:00) | he pulls out a ancient pipe that looks to be made frome a dragons fang, it has been carved with a exquisite design of a mouse chasing a cat,as he starts to pack it full of tabacco he asks "do you mind if i smoke here?"
| Anarururu (13:01) | Anarururu frowns at Dominique, "Only slightly..." she looks at Vetic, "anything really... I can handle alot."
| Anarururu (13:02) | -- She starts eating her breakfast, with one hand. The other she uses to prevent theift, being as catious as she is.
| Dominique (13:04) | seeing the frown from Anarururu he puts his pipe away, looking once more at Anarururu he asks " i ave' been wondering what might be that package ye be avin there...."
| Vetic (13:08) | After taking a few bites from his plate, the dwarf looked over to Anarururu, "So, 'ave yas been t'inkin' on 'ow yer gunna talk ta da King 'o Figaro yet?"
| Anarururu (13:10) | Anarururu Kitsune blinks at Dominique, "package...?" glancing around herself to see what he means, "Where is it, Dommy?" she turns to Vetic, "I think I might need lessons... I don't know the first thing about talking to kings... I'm not sure I'd even be good at performing...." sho looks down, but keeps a good watch on her belongings as she eats.
| Vetic (13:12) | The dwarf laughs, "Bah! Ye'll do fine Lass, ye'll do fine. I've got faith in yer abilities. Plus, I 'ear dat da King be likin' pretty lasses. Dat should also be playin' in yer favor." Vetic grins to Anarururu, "Er, at leas' dat be what I've been 'earin'."
| Dominique (13:13) | as he peers in anarururu's direction, he states " the small box by yer feet der, you didn't notice it when you sat down?" as he points to a small box covered in a light brown paper leaning up aganst the bar
| Anarururu (13:18) | looking at her feet, Anarururu Kitsume blinks, "Not mine... must be someone else's..." she looks at Vetic again, "Well, I guess that's good... do you like lasses, too?" giggling playfully as she eats more of her food.
| Vetic (13:18) | "Ye dunnae 'ave enough hair on yer face, sorry Lass." Vetic grins.
| Dominique (13:20) | as he looks at his watch he reilizes that he is going to be way late for his job in the corn fields... as he quickly finishes off his ale he turns to his two new firends and sayes " i hate to run with such short notice but im going to be late for my job at the fields..." as he bows to both of then he turns and pays his tab with the bartender and exits slowly
| Anarururu (13:24) | Anarururu Kitsume chuckles, "Well, I'm not sure I'd like a beard or mustach... They tend to bug other Selkies..." she chuckles again, "But don't worry, I'm honest... I've not once slipped my hand into another's wallet... without asking and getting permission, of course." giggling a bit, finishing her meal.
| Vetic (13:28) | "Ta each they own I guess." Vetic shrugs, taking up his mug of ale and taking in a few swallows.
| Anarururu (13:30) | Anarururu Kitsume smiles and leans on the counter, "That was a hearty mean, I think... More than I've eaten in a long time... and it's alot better than dumpster food!" she smiles at Vetic, "So, other than likin' the lasses, what is the king like?." wanting to know more of her job.
| Vetic (13:34) | "Ah dunnae know much else. I decid'd ta drink a bit, bought ah few rounds, an' listen'd to da gossip since ev'rywun 'ad they tongues loos'n'd."
| Anarururu (13:37) | Anarururu Kitsume thinks, listening to the chatter, "Hmm... I don't get much about the king..." frowning she starts looking at her ocarina, looking at the light reflect off it's blue surface.
| Vetic (13:38) | "Of cours' ya silly lass! We be in Coneria, not Figaro!" The dwarf laughed heartilly, and ends up falling from his stool and hitting the ground with a loud metallic THUNK!
| Anarururu (13:41) | Anarururu Kitsume gasps and divebombs to catch the drawf, wincing at the impact, "Egah...." She attempts to help him up, lifting with her bruised arms, "Are.... you, alright? Cause I think my arms might be hurt..." she chuckles, trying to make light of the situation.
| Vetic (13:43) | "Bah! It'll take more den fallin' off a stool ta 'urt me!" The dwarf keeps laughing, getting to his feet with Anarururu's help (and using the stool with his other arm to offset for the girl's apparant lack of strength training) then climbs back onto the stool. Taking the mug in hand, the dwarf resumes drinking and talking, "But yea, once we be gettin' ta Figaro I'll be 'avin' yas be da one ta learn more 'bout da King."
| Anarururu (13:47) | Once the drawf is up and back on the stool, Anarururu Kitsume smiles, "That would be nice... Maybe learn a tune or two while I'm at it.." Being a bard, there isn't much use for strength beyond lifting an instrument, so she would, of course, be physically weaker than most... She rubs her arms, then snatches up her parasol before others have a chance to take it.
| Vetic (13:48) | "So, I be done 'ere..." He finishes the mug of ale, "Ahhh! Wit' dis ale 'ere, sos...'ows 'bout we be puttin' dirt ta tread 'n be findin' ourselves ta Figaro?"
| Anarururu (13:53) | Anarururu Kitsume smiles at the drawf, "awight then!" she says, swirlling her parasol over her shoulder, "Which way is it? I've only ever been here, and Thamasa... and another place... But, I don't remember much of it..." looking down, sadly.
| Vetic (13:54) | "I've been ta lots 'o places. Jus' be followin' me an we'll be ok." The dwarf hops down from the barstool, gives a wave to Gus, and starts walking for the door.
| Sun Jun 15 |
| Rhylas (01:34) | Rhylas grinned as he held the Redeemer at a 'ready to fire' posistion. "Alright you little punk, let see what you have!" The red dragonling across from his snarled and reared back his head. "Too slow!" the chemist's grin widened as he pulled the trigger of his weapon. -Click- "...." The dragonling stopped its feet and glared at the human across from him.
| Rhylas (01:36) | "..Well that is a disappointment." He holstered the gun at his hip and reached for his dagger. "It make be a bit tougher, but I can handle one little.." it was then Rhylas noticed that more and more pairs of eyes were glareing at him from the shadows. More dragonlings began to step out of the caves and surround the chemist.
| Rhylas (01:38) | The original red dragonling stomped its feet and roared. Rhylas held up his dagger, slowly backing away and hopeing for an opening to escape. The red dragonling reared back it's head adn breathed forth a cone of fire at the chemist.
| Rhylas (01:45) | A merchant and his body guard traveled along the main road from Figaro to Coneria. The merchant turns to the body guard, "Quiet night, huh?" The body guard nods, though she keeps her eyes scanning the forest around them. "I can only hope the rest of our trip is as..." Suddenly a scream breaks the silence of the night. Rhylas leaps over a nearby busy and runs smack into the wagon. "..I thought..I was done for!" The chemist looks up only to find a woman standing over him with her spear at his throat. "A thief?"
| Rhylas (01:51) | The mercant shrugs at the bodyguard and Rhylas speaks up. "No, a wandering Chemist." The bodyguard glares at him, her spear remaining at his throat. "What are you doing out at this time?" Rhylas grinned. "Wandering." The woman rolled her eyes and stepped back, allowing the chemist to stand. "I think he's too stupid to be a thief...Go home you." Rhylas climbed to his feet, dusting himself off. "Nah, I think it would be safer if I just went with you, lets go!" he nodded his head and walked to the front of the wagon. The merchant and the bodyguard stared at each other a moment. The merchant shrugged and the bodyguard sighed. It was gunna be a long trip.
| Anarururu (13:34) | Once Anarururu Kitsume got to Figaro, she went exploring, bringing Poshepoket, her new friend/accessory, at her side. She made the choice to explore, to perhaps plan out her job a little more, and maybe get farmiliar with the new sorroundings. The first place she decided to go was the library, Luckily, she had bought a map of figaro and could easily find it, "Wow... a castle's library... Maybe I'll read to you, Poshe." she says to Poshepoket, who simply replies "Ahhbeegiibe." which doesn't actually have a translation.

| Mon Jun 16 |
| Athalos (00:32) | Athalos sat inside his room at the Drunken Dragon Inn, Coneria's most popular place to check equipment, grab some food and drinks, meet some friends, fight with those friends, and most importantly get a good night's sleep. The night passed quickly in his drunken sleep, and now he sat looking out of his room's window. "I think it will rain today." he thought to himself.
| Athalos (00:36) | He reached over to his pack, which carried the few items he chose to depart vector with. After rummaging his hand around inside while still looking out the window he procured a sharpening stone. He looked at the object and bounced it in his hand a few times. He got up, walked over to the other side of the room and grabbed his sword. He returned to his seat near the window and began to sharpen its blade. "Yes, I do think it will rain today." A grin emerged on his face and he chuckled softly, madly, to himself.
| Athalos (00:44) | As he sharpened his sword, his thoughts drifted off and he began staring outside of the window again. Moments later he grimaced in pain and looked down at his hand. Blood ran fresh from his palm, having been accidentally sliced on the blade. "Well that's fucking great." he said to himself. He tossed the sharpening stone on his bed near his pack and placed the sword against the wall. He brought his hand back into view, palm up, to assess the deepness of the wound. It didn't look bad, so he grabbed some gauze from his pack and started to wrap his hand up when there was a knock at the door. "Room service. Do you need anything, sir?" came a female's voice. "No, no. I'm fine." He heard the woman's footsteps trail down the hall and a knock on the next door.
| Athalos (00:48) | "Dammit, I didn't it would be -my- blood to rain today." he said to himself. He tossed his gauze back on the bed when he was finished, stood up and stretched. "What to do, what to do..." he thought to himself. He stared out the window again for a few minutes, then gathered his things and went downstairs. The inn was quiet and he decided to order some food. The lack of customers made his order appear very quickly, and he ate it even quicker.
| Anarururu (07:49) | Looking over the books in the Figaro Library, Anarururu Kitsume look over the books, "What kinds of stories do you like Poshe? It seems there's more history than stories on these shelves... I wonder if those shelves have stories over there?" Poshepocket shook slightly letting out "Arrgle Blasm!" causing Anarururu to cover it's mouth, "Shh... Poshe, we're in a library... you need to be quiet..." "Dinfle Darg..." "Good.... er... Poshe."
| Anarururu (08:06) | Finding a book that catches her interest, Anarururu Kitsume sits down and starts reading 'aquiet' to Poshepocket. The book is about art, all forms of art. Paintings, Dancing, Music and othe expressions of thought. "Arngle Slansii?" PoshePocket says at one point, "Display, means that it's available for others to see... like these books. They're on display" Anarururu Kitsume says, not really understanding Poshepocket, but more of answering based on what she was saying when it interupted.
| Anarururu (08:29) | A young male walks up and peers at Poshepocket slung over Anarururu Kitsume's shoulder. After a bit, points at it, asking her, "is that a purse, or a pet?" to which she replied, "both?" unsure of what she considered it. Poshepocket speakes it's argle garble, "Aiee Konunununununu." that, as usual, doesn't actually have a translation. "What did he say?" asks the male, to which Anarururu Kitsune replied, "I don't know, but I think it was 'Aiee Konunununununu' that came out." smiling and patting Poshpocket on the head.
| Anarururu (09:04) | The male looked blankly at Anarururu Kitsume, then at the strange Poshepocket, then turns back to Anarururu, "So what are the two of you?" Anarururu smiles, "I'm a Forky Bard, and this is Poshepocket. It's so cute, and it can store things for me." The male looks confused, "Forky... Bard?" She nods, "Yes, Forky Bard. That is what I call myself, cause I like the way it sounds... And I've learned that if you call yourself something, others will call you the same. So, I am a Forky Bard." "Shnizzle flamel Sham!" Poshepocket calls out, Anarururu Kitsume hushes him, "Poshe... SHHH... Not so loud in the library..." the male moves on, weirded out by the pair. Anarururu Kitsume continues reading 'aquiet' to Poshepocket.
| Azelie (21:18) | The sands, it crept into everything, boots, clothes, hair, it was horrible. Azelie hadn't seen much of anyone lately, and still being stuck in the desert due to her Doppelganger. She was getting no where, all the leads she once had seemed to have lead to a dead-end. She sat against her chocobo, bunkered down for the night, a small fire burning as the two tried to keep warm together. "I should of just told him no." She muttered to herself.
| Azelie (21:21) | "So, we know they were at least in Figaro, so staying out here is pointless, but if I try anything, Figaro might consider it an act of war." The girl muttered as she tried to sort through things. "Really though. Anatsol, he should be able to handle this on his own. I don't even feel like trying to stop them."
| Azelie (21:28) | The girl was obviously getting frustrated and impatient, glaring up at the castle walls. "Yeah, and where is everyone else when you need them..." She slowly got up, shook the sand off and tugged on the reigns of her bird. "Fuck it, I'm going back to Coneria, they don't need me here."
| Tue Jun 17 |
| Anarururu (07:12) | Anarururu had read through the book and went to explore the outside of the castle, wondering if while listening to her dwarf friend she may have missed something outside, and she got out just in time to see a stranger on a chocobo, "Ello, there? Did you see anything interesting on your way here?" trying to grab their attention before they left, Poshepocket made a big grin with it's sharp teeth and chuckled, "I'm new to this city, and I was wondering if I missed a great view on the way here."
| Senifin (09:33) | Sitting down in The Screaming Warrior Tavern, Senifin Venai watched the lessons going on, seeing if any of the class would mess up. She leaned on the far wall. She looked at the three gil in her hand, "Gee... I'm almost completely broke now..." she pockets the coins, looking back at the class, "well, it doesn't appear to be teaching anything useful I'm interested in... I'll stay just a bit longer incase someone goofs up and amuses me..." yawning slightly.
| Senifin (09:51) | "No one's going to mess up, might as well go on..." Senifin Venai says, leaving The Screaming Warrior Tavern and heading up stairs to the smith's. Glances at what she can't afford, then heads out to the street and the crowd. "The city is too much... where to go from here?" as Senifin Venai tries to figure out what to do, She just moves with the hussle and bussle of the crowd, "Maybe I'll have better luck in yet another town... Finding a teacher of magic is harder now, since I lack money..." frowning and looking down as she walks.
| Senifin (10:23) | Eventually, the crowd's movements bring Senifin Venai to Ruga's Cafe, however, having just three coins, she sits against the outside of the building to rest her legs, "Well... I need a way to earn money... Maybe someone might need a healer to go with them... I know a little healing... Or perhaps a job as a waitress, I'm sure I can make alot in tips..." She ponders her situation, but not coming up with a precise course of action.
| Ahkana (11:59) | In the Figaro weapon shop, Ahkana Minuta was looking over the weapons they have. More than half of the ones that she could identify, she had no clue how to use, and the ones she did, would slow her down... Fed up, she starts walking toward the Inn, "Looks like I need more training when I return home..."
| Wed Jun 18 |
| Azelie (20:35) | The breeze through the castle was warm, heating the stoney interior as citizens did thier daily business. Azelie was still dressed in her casual clothes, including the jacket, still searching for that last clue that might 'break the case'. The doppelgangers were no where around, or at least not that the girl could find, but now, she was focusing on finding what ever magicial force was drawing them near. She was leaning against the wall near the entrance to the castle, her eyes darting between each passing person.
| Anarururu (20:41) | Appearently confused when the stranger turns back as if she heard Anarururu Kitsume, Anarururu smiles, then frowns as she walks past, "Eh?" she blinks, then Poshepocket attempts to bite the sleeve of Azelie as she walks by, "Arrggable" it calls out.
| Azelie (20:51) | Scanning the crowd, Azelie didn't quite notice the thing bite her sleeve until it was too late, her natural reaction of swatting whatever it was kicked in. She didn't even bother to look at it, and continued her gaze out towards the crowd. "Damn it all to Narshe... Why can't anyone even look like they are developing that device." She growled under her breath, quit fed up by it all.
| Anarururu (20:54) | Anarururu scolds Poshepocket, "Bad Poshe, don't do that to the kind lady..." and she turns to Azelie, "I'm terribly sorry, he's.. She's... it's? not trained yet.."
| Zael (20:57) | One of the knights turned around and walked towards where the bartender was pointing, towards Zael. Zael looked up from the news phamplet and said in a curious tone, "What to you want?" The knight responded, "YOu will come with us, we need some questions answered after your... long... departure..."
| Azelie (21:02) | "That's no excuse, if its your beast, then it is your responsibility." The girl replied coldly while looking at the lady before her. She didn't really look angry though, her expression growing emotionless as she peered back at the poshepocket. "Besides, what is that thing... it looks odd."
| Zael (21:02) | Zael didnt even know these men, but they obviously knew him. "Pheh, i might as well go with then..." Zael said as he stood up. The knights remained silent as the leader motioned for him to get into formation with him. Zael reluctantly agreed, especially since he was surrounded by those he cant quite trust according to his gut instinct.
| Azelie (21:17) | "Damn it, just like that kid, always disapeering." The girl grumbled again, pushing her way into the castle. She was still proudly wearing the golden dawn headband, in fact, so much that she raised a hand to touch the emblem. "I wonder... What is Baron doing now." A few people whispered as she passed them, the rumors of the 'second Azelie' and the fact she wasn't wanted around here growing out of hand.
| Zael (21:20) | The group walked up the road towards the fortress, but instead of heading for the main gate, They turned east towards some mines. Miners stood and parted so that the group can get into them, eventually making its way to a door leading to a factory of sorts. "What is this place?" Zael said, as he looked down the white corridor."
| Thu Jun 19 |
| Anarururu (06:52) | Anarururu Kitsume hadn't promptly vanished for no reason. When nature calls, one must answer. She turns to Poshepocket, "Why is it you never have to use the potty?" "Froogle." it replied. She finishes her business and goes to re-meet Azelie, "Ex'scuse me... had to take a potty break... and I'm working on training it." trying to make amends, first for biting, then for running off to use the washroom.
| Fri Jun 20 |
| Zael (21:37) | Zael and the knights continued down the hall within the magitek facility. "Why are you taking me here?" Zael asked but recieved no response. He then had a slight memory reveal itself, a memory of pain assosiated with this place. He grimaced a bit but held back his worry as they continued onwards.
| Zael (21:48) | As the group ventured forwards, they turned down a sidehall that had a door with a hand-scan operated lock. A sign reading, "black clearance only. Highly Restricted Area." was hung on a wall beside the door. As the lead knight put his hand on the device, Zael had another very bad memory pop up, but he knew he wouldnt be able to ask or even get away. THey had been ignoring him the whole entire time, and he had no clue why. The door opened up to a large room will all manner of scientific devices spread throughout it.
| Zael (22:00) | The center of the room was taken up by a large chamber filled with a sickly green looking fluid, a harness within it that appears to be able to hold a human quite snuggly. Memorys started flashing through Zael's mind, memories of the painful experiments done on him. Zael lashed out in anger and headbutted one of the knights, yelling, "I WONT GO BACK INTO THIS HELL!!!" The other knights quickly subdued him, rendering zael unconscious. After a while, he regained conscious and found himself within the chamber, unable to move, talk, or make a single gesture as he watched a scientist tap upon the glass chamber, saying, "Its about time for another treatment..."
| Sun Jun 22 |
| Zael (21:53) | Zael woke up , still inside the tank. Some scientists were in front of it, jotitng down notes and making obsevations as well as talking to one another. HE couldnts hear anything other than the wooshing of fluid around him. He had a breather apparatus on him, as well as a harness to keep him suspended in a specific position. "Why did i have to just walk into this, Zael thought to himself." He was starting to remember some parts of his past, namely the experimentation done on him to form him into a sort of weapon. If there was a name to it, he didnt remember at the moment. All zael wanted was to escape the tank and inflict pain and suffering onto the scientists.
| Zael (22:00) | Zael was without his weapons and armor, and other than the harness was wearing nothing but a pair of special pants. Zael turned even more angrier as he remembered more of the experimentation, and he figured why not use his powers to escape since he is unable to even bash through the tank. The runic engravings covering most of Zael's body started to glow a very bright red, and just as the fluid around him started to bubble from the heat of his fire aura, a very strong charge of electricity was sent through the harness and knocked Zael out senseless.
| Zael (22:14) | Zael woke up again, this time in quite a bit of pain from the shock. He then started cursing up a storm through the rebreather. The scientists were looking at Zael with a puzzled look and then started laughing about something. The one scientist then went to a console and adjusted a few settings for the tank. The liquid in it turned a somewhat brighter, more opaque blue in color. More mako was being pumped into the mix that Zael was suspended in, and oddly enough it put him into a more calmer state.
| Mon Jun 23 |
| Azelie (20:24) | Figaro was actually a little cool for once, a nice breeze blowing through the windows of the castle. Azelie was perched in the main hall, leaning up against the stone as she continued to watch random people. She was looking quite disheaveled, unable to even take a bath due to her evil doppelganger.

| Zael (20:29) | Zael woke up after having a bad dream about the past, and somehow the dream ignited something within, a very strong urge to kill those responsible. The fluid in the tank was still infused with mako but some more magicite essense had been pumped into it. "Heh, what have they been doing to me anyways..." Zael thought to himself, "When i get a chance im gonna wring all the necks of all these annoying scientists." Zael felt an odd sensation on his back, little did he know that electrodes have been planted into his back, thick fluid-resistant cables and connectors attached to each.
| Anarururu (20:34) | Having being completely ignored twice by the stranger, Anarururu Kitsume decided to leave it at that... being ignored. So, she went to the inn to check up on her Drawf friend and see what's up with her job, she doesn't actually know where he is, but the inn likely has a tavern, and the drawf likes his ale.
| Azelie (20:38) | The hall was actually quite dead, only a few people actually making their way to and fro. Azelie was quite impatient, growing tired of waiting for the next sign of the doppelgangers. She slowly pushed herself from the rock, making her way to the inn and tavern, where she had recieved her fist clue. "Maybe, someone would of heard of something by now." She grumbled, realizing that she wasn't really welcome at the place, especially not that she owed... well her doppelganger owed... the barkeep at least 50k gil.
| Zael (20:41) | Zael tried yet again to shatter the tank and was yet again electrocuted into a daze. He just couldnt get out of this hell, now could he. Zael tryed to scream at the scientists to let him out, but his attempts couldnt be heard through the glass. All of a sudden a sudden sleepyness fell over and consumed zael...

| Tue Jun 24 |
| Rhylas (09:33) | Rhylas leaned back against the walls of Figaro and stared out into the vast desert befor him. "Man it can get hot out here.." he muttered, undoing the top button of his shirt. It hadn't been that long since he handed his weapon over to be examined my the engineer in the city, and it would be a long boreing wait befor he could return for results.
| Anarururu (09:37) | Anarururu Kitsume, not finding Vetic at the Inn, decided to look outside again, to see if she perhaps missed something... but she wouldn't travel far, she has a job to do. Poshepocket swayed at her side, grinning with it's pointed teeth.
| Rhylas (09:40) | The desert heat washed over the chemist as he sat silently outside the gate. Sweat was running down his face but he made no move to wipe it away. Undoing a second button to his shirt the chemist sighed let his body slide down the wall until he was sitting. "...Why are deserts so hot..."
| Anarururu (09:43) | walking through the gates, Anarururu Kitsume turns to the voice, "because, the sun heats the place up... there's almost no water... it barely ever rains... that's all I can think up right now." "Aeega" calls out Poshepocket, "I'm Anarururu Kitsume, the Forky Bard." Anarururu says, then smiles.
| Rhylas (09:50) | Rhylas turned toward the voice, lifting a hand to shade his eyes from the sun. "Well I don't much care for the desert at all." he replied. He then turned his gaze back out into the desert. Sweat now ran freely down his face and the visible parts of his upper body from were his shirt was open. "I'm Rhylas..Apparantly a stupid chemist."
| Anarururu (09:54) | "you asked a question, I answered." Anarururu Kitsume says, looking outward, "do you now of any lovely sights I might have missed on the way here?" She asks, followed by a comment from Poshepocket, "Shroooom."
| Rhylas (09:56) | "There was a nice rock about a mile out that way.." Rhylas pointed out into the middle of nowhere. His expression was one of absolute misery and sun was beginning to turn his exposed skin a bit red.
| Anarururu (10:03) | Anarururu Kitsume frowns, "well, that sucks..." she sits down, "You didn'thappen to see a dwarf, did you?"
| Rhylas (10:05) | Rhylas closed his eyes and rested his head against the wall behind him. "Dwarves are those little people that when you spot one you and your friends make a bet on how far you can kick them?" He went silent for a moment then suddenly opened one eye "This wall is very hot." though he didn't move away from it.
| Anarururu (10:09) | Anarururu Kitsume giggles, "I can't kick anything very far... But that might be a drawf... They are small..." she chucles as the new stranger mentios the hot wall.
| Rhylas (10:11) | Rhylas lifted his head and glanced over at his visitor, one eye open, one eye still closed. "Why are you out here in this heat? I'm sure you have a nice cool room somewhere in the city to rest in?" For the first time he actually took in the person befor him. If it wasn't so damn hot..I might actually try to hit on her... he though to himself befor sighing and returning his head to the hot wall behind him.
| Anarururu (10:14) | Anarururu Kitsume chuckles, "I don't feel all that hot in this white gown. And the breeze blows around under it cooling me down, anyway." she giggles, "Maybe you need new clothes." Poshepocket giggles and bounces, grinning with it's sharp teeth.
| Rhylas (10:16) | Completly aware of what was happening around him the chemist didn't even twitch an eyebrow as he responded with, "I wouldn't look so well in a white gown."
| Anarururu (10:19) | Anarururu Kitsume laughs, "I don't think I said anything about a gown," she giggles, "perhaps you need somw white shirt, and a pair of ivory coloured pants, with egg-white shoes." Poshepocket makes a noise like click.
| Rhylas (10:23) | "..." Rhylas sat silently for some time. "This wall is getting hotter." The chemist sat still for a moment longer then added. "Also, I'm hungry." He opened his eyes and sat upright, sliding away from the wall a bit. He turned and looked at Anarururu but did not speak.
| Anarururu (10:25) | Anarururu Kitsume puts her hand in Poshepocket's mouth, then pulls out a bagel, "Here, I've got food... not much though, but you're welcome to have it." She smiles holding out the bagel.
| Rhylas (10:28) | Rhylas simply stared at the ... 'thing' Anarururu had withdraw the bagel from. "What the hell is that?" he asked rather nonchalantly. He didn't reach or even look at the bagel, instead his eyes were affixed to the thing the bagel had come from.
| Anarururu (10:31) | Anablinks, looking at Poshepocket, "Oh... He's my Poshepocket... I call him Poshe for short..." still holding out the bagel.
| Rhylas (10:32) | "Well tell it that I don't like it." the chemist said, reaching out and takeing the bagel. He examined the food item carefully befor putting it to his mouth and takeing a bite. Rhylas glared at the purse like creature as he ate on the bagel.
| Anarururu (10:35) | Anarururu Kitsume tilts her head, "Why don't you like Poshe? He's cute, and can hold many things." Poshepocket shouts, "Arrgle Bargle!"
| Rhylas (10:38) | Rhylas continued to stare at Poshepocket for a moment longer then stuck out his tongue and turned away, sticking the last of the bagel into his mouth. "Well anyway..." he began to say, food still in his mouth, "Thank you for the bagel...even if it did come from some..bag..creatures..mouth..sack..thing.."
| Anarururu (10:39) | Anarururu Kitsume giggles, "I don't think he actually eats anyhing... the items all come out dry and in one piece... and you're very welcome." Poshepocket grins with it's sharp pointed teeth again.
| Rhylas (10:42) | One day I'll punch that bastard in the teeth. Rhylas thought to himself befor turning and nodding at Anarururu. "Well in any case. I had a snack and I think it may have even gotten a little cooler out here." As though to mock him any signs of clouds cleared up and the sun beat down on the chemist with no mercy. ...Bastard
| Anarururu (10:44) | Anarururu Kitsume nods, "If you'd like, you may use my bed in the Inn... I'm perfectly comfortable on the floor." she miles, closing her eyes and slightly tilting her head while leaning forward just a bit.
| Rhylas (10:48) | Rhylas cocked an eyebrow, "Inviting a stranger to your room to sleep in your bed? You sure move quick." Heooc Oh shit
| Rhylas (10:49) | Rhylas cocked an eyebrow, "Inviting a stranger to your room to sleep in your bed? You sure move quick." He stepped forward and began to circle around Anarururu, ignoring the purse creature. "Suspicious." he uttered.
| Anarururu (10:52) | Opening her eyes and watching the stranger walk around her, Anarururu Kitsume tilts her head, "If you're out here, complaining about the heat, then you're probably as broke as me, how is helping a fellow person in need suspecious?" she glances at the strnger.
| Rhylas (10:54) | Rhylas nodded and grinned a little. "I'm just kidding. In this day and age it isn't strange at all for adventurers to help each other out." He stopped infront of Anarururu and his grin widening. "But you see, I'm not out here because I'm poor."
| Anarururu (10:56) | That last comment confused Anarururu Kitsume. She tilts her head to the other side, "Then why are you out in the heat, if you can afford a room?" she ponders this herself.
| Rhylas (10:58) | "Well I could afford a room. The problem is I don't like to stick around inside the city if I don't have to." Rhylas' eyes shifted over toward the gates then back to Anarururu.
| Anarururu (11:02) | That confused Anarururu Kitsume even more, "well... what's so bad in the city? Is there someone you're avoiding?" she twirls to look in the castle gates, then twirls back to face the stranger, her skirt billowing up slightly each time, "I don't see anything that needs avoiding..."
| Rhylas (11:04) | "I'm not trying to avoid anyone in particular, I'm avoiding the city itself." He said, then realized that wasn't very clear either. "Ahem. Let's just say a long time ago I was accused of um...killing someone precious to this city and ever since then they have had their pantied in a wad and would probably kill me on sight if they recognized me. So while I CAN casually go in and out of the city, if someone where to actually notice me and turn me in I would have to either A) Go back to jail, B)Try to escape the city fighting, or C) Die trying to accomplish B."
| Anarururu (11:08) | Anarururu Kitsume frowns, "I can't really sneak you in, I don't think there's any air in Poshe... But don't you think that you have changed? I could vouch for you, since I've been with you and I'm still alive" it's quite obvious she thinks along the lines of a child's logic, with the maturity and understanding of her proper age. She seems to be quite aware of you situation, and understands your trouble, her logic is usually flawed, however.
| Rhylas (11:12) | She's not even acknowledging the fact that I didn't say I did , but that I was accused... It would take too long to explain to her in detail what was going on and why he was outside. "Screw it, I'll go inside and wait. If I have to wage war on Figaro it beats standing out in the heat." he muttered, a bit of annoyance apparant in his voice.
| Anarururu (11:15) | Anarururu Kitsume frowns, a little saddened that she made her assumed new friend upset, "II'm sorry... I didn't mean to make you angry..." she goes in as well, heading to the Inn to see if her Dwarf friend may have returned.
| Rhylas (11:18) | "I'm not mad." the chemist grumbled. Entering the city the chemist buttoned his shirt and pulled the collar up to cover his neck. He kept his head low but was constantly gazeing around and scanning the crowd for any familiar faces that may recognize him.
| Nai (23:56) | The skies rapidly soared by as the legendary might of the Blade Caller was unleashed. He was mighty. And legendary. And mighty legendary, but mostly, he was flying through the air right now. Dragons roared in a symphony of fear as the mighty Nai Driftlin came down upon them. Dagger in his teeth, he drove his massive musclar body into a large golden dragon, as if to tackle him straight from the sky. The musclar arms of the epic Blade Caller gripped and crushed the feeble arms of the dragon. His bare, musclar chest soon found a dragon's head crushing against it as he headlocked the beast. His body twisted mid-air and snapped the dragon's neck. His long brown hair was windswept by the gales twisting and bending around his airborne form, especially as he ran across the dying dragon's gut and lept higher into the air to engage another.
| Wed Jun 25 |
| Nai (00:02) | The Blade Caller pulled the dagger from his teeth and hurled it into the sky. It struck one, two, three dragons and pierced them through. They, however, were mere stepping stones for the glory that was Nai. He climbed higher and higher through their bodies until he reached the top. His tremendous unwavering, unstoppable hand gripped around the wing of a red dragon. He tore it forcefully off and sent another one to the chaos of fire and discord at the ground below. He turned the wing against the wind and allowed himself to soar back, enough to send his furious foot of fury into the mouth of a dragon, knocking the teeth straight out. He kicked off of the beast's tongue and leg locked the beast, placing his feet just behind its horns. He drove the creature down.. down.. down and dow. And further down still until impact was inevitable. As the ground approached, his confident grin grew.
| Nai (00:05) | "Again?" The world of combat and mayhem stopped suddenly. That included gravity. The dragon froze in place as a boy in green robes walked, quite literally, through the air and stood at eye level with the heroic and mighty Nai Driftlin. He produced an utterly massive, practically mountain sized mallet from behind his tiny body. He swung it once and obliterated both he who was mighty and the dragon. Misthrall's eyes slowly opened blinked twice slowly, then shut following a faint yawn.
| Anarururu (07:12) | Anarururu Kitsume, unable to find her dwarf friend, worked on her ocarina for a bit, fine tuning it, and giving it yet a different paint job, this time more than one colour. She painted a camo pattern on in in the colours of light blue, light green and yellow. Then went to the the Air Dock, "What do you think, poshe, should I have trained as an engineer instead of a bard? Look at these amazing vehicles..." and Poshepocket responded with "Firgle poo?" grinning with it's sharp, pointy teeth.
| Rhylas (07:17) | Rhylas gazed silently out of the window into the streets of Figaro. Daily life had begun and the citizens went about their cheerful day. The chemist leaned back in his chair and stretched his arms. "I guess it doesn't really matter what I do. Noone here should remember be by now anyway." It seemed as though all the wanted posters had been taken down long ago and even a Figaro Guard wouldn't recognize the chemist face to face.
| Anarururu (07:21) | Anarururu Kitsume watched the ships come and go... "If I was an engineer, I would make an airship in the shape of a chocobo..." Poshepocket stop grinning, "Foofen nargle....." it said, almost as if it disliked that idea.
| Rhylas (07:24) | "Well then..Guess I'll go for a walk." Rhylas said, picking up his coat and heading for the exit. As he reached the door he gave the inn keeper a nod and headed into the streets. "I guess I'll wander around for a bit then go check up on that guy."
| Anarururu (07:39) | Anarururu Kitsume walked out of the Docks, reaching into Poshepocket's mouth, the giggles, "That's right, I gave my bagel to Rhy... rhy... rhysomething... What was his name... I think I made him upset... he was very nice though..." not paying attention to the fact she was speaking out loud or where she was going, as she takes her hand out of Poshepocket.
| Rhylas (07:42) | "It was Rhylas." Butted in the chemist who just happen to be passing by in the opposite direction of Anarururu. "And I said I wasn't angry." he added. The chemist stopped for a moment to glance around.
| Anarururu (07:48) | Anarururu Kitsume beams, "You aren't mad, oh! I thought I might have upset you, I'm glad that isn't so." she beems at him with her crimson coloured eyes wide with they joy of having a friend. The only part of her with any real colour is her eyes, and they can reveal many of her emotions.
| Rhylas (07:51) | Completly ignoring the girls comment the chemist turned and headed to the east. "This way?" After a short walk he arrived at his destination. Entering the shop infront of him Rhylas calls out with, "Heeeey! Griswald? You home?" as he enters.
| Anarururu (07:54) | Anarururu Kitsume follows Rhylas, and assumes he knows his way arround better than some map, "Do you think I can stay with you, Rhylas? My employer is currently nowhere to be found, and I don't know anyone here yet..." she says, as Poshepocket chuckles.
| Rhylas (07:58) | Rhylas turned to Anarururu for a moment. "With me? I don't mind if you wanna follow me around, but chances are I won't be staying in Figaro for very long, but whatever you choose to do is your business." At that time the man behind the counter turned with a wide grin. "Rhylas my lad! How have you been?" he laughed, slapping his hands on the counter. The chemist turned back and smiled. "Haha, just stopped by to see how business was, you know."
| Anarururu (08:02) | looking at the man at the counter, Anarururu Kitsume smiles, "I wonder if all people are as friendly as the people I've been running into..." she stays near enough to Rhylas to follow him, but not close enough to invade personal space, "Perhaps it is easy to be friendly to the world..."
| Rhylas (08:06) | "I see, I see! And how is that Redeemer of yours? A truely master work of art!" Griswald explaimed, fantasizing about another chance to tinker with the weapon. "Luckily I have not had to use it in a long time. But the shells you made are wonderful and get the job done." Rhylas smiled, then turned to Anarururu who seems to have chosen to follow him. "Well, I guess I'll be heading out, maybe I'll stop back in later." Griswald grinend and waved to the chemist as he departed.
| Anarururu (08:11) | Following Rhylas, Anarururu Kitsume stays the same distance, making sure she doesn't make Rhylas uncomfortable, "What's a Redeemer?" she asked, curious, "Is it something anyone can use? Does it do anything special?" and stops there, as she waits for some responses as to not flood her friend with questions.
| Rhylas (08:16) | Rhylas kept a slow stride heading back south from Griswalds shop. He had nowhere else to be and didn't really feel like heading back to the Inn so soon. "The Redeemer is the name of the weapon I carry." The chemist flipped back the right side of his coat to show the weapon holstered at his waist. The large hand gun rested firmly against Rhylas hip affixed inside it's leather holster. The coat was quickly closed and the weapon was only displayed but for a mere moment, Rhylas still didn't want to draw attention.
| Anarururu (08:20) | Following Rhylas, Anarururu Kitsume smiles, "Is it any good? The only weapon I have is my ocarina. It's an instrument, but with it I can play songs... not a useful weapon... but I can also bash things." she chuckles, "I often wonder if this was the right profession for me, being a Forky Bard... I see so many more useful people with different professions." seeming a little dissapointed.
| Rhylas (08:23) | "To answer your question...It's power is devestating and I prefer to not have to use it." Rhylas continued to walk, turning every so often and takeing in the sights. "As for your choice in profression...everyone has their use. Even if you think you're not all that useful in combat..I'm sure your songs and music bring smiles and great joy to those around you. Music can even lift the spirit and empower those around you, inspiring them to preform great feats themselves."
| Anarururu (08:27) | Following Rhylas, Anarururu Kitsume smiles, running up behind Rhylas giving him a surprise hug momentarly before backing up again, "Thank you, Rhylas. You have cheered me up, and so I will play music and dance for you if you want!" she takes the ocarina on the red ribon around her neck in her hands, "I'm very good." she says, quite happy.
| Rhylas (08:30) | Slightly caught off guard the chemist uses clearing his throat as a method to cover for the momentarily slip. "Uh, well...Alright then." He stopped at a nearby bench and sat down. He glanced over to Anarururu and gave a nod.
| Anarururu (08:35) | Anarururu Kitsume closed her eyes and brings the ocarina to her lips, then begins to play a slow, yet cheerful song, her feet moving and dancing in rythm with the notes. It is an unfarmiliar song, yet very well played out. the dance movements are refined and balanced. The performance is all together beautiful, as her gown billows as she moves and her charming complexing makes it seem as though she is dancing just for the person who sees her.
| Rhylas (08:42) | Rhylas closed his eyes and listened to the song. It washed over him and swept him away to a place only he and the musician were. The chemist nodded his head and tapped his foot to the rhythm then opened his eyes and watched the girl dance. It was then the chemist realized a small crowd had gathered around to watch the performance. "I can see them..." Rhylas suddenly said.
| Anarururu (08:47) | Unaware of the crowd, since she always performed with closed eyes, Anarururu Kitsume continued playing for an hour, then stopped and opened her eyes, looking at Rhylas, still not yet aware of the crowd, "How did you like the performance of Anarururu Kitsume the Forky Bard? I gave it my all, and wrote the song and dance myself." She smiles, bowing slightly.
| Rhylas (08:49) | Unaware... Rhylas nodded and clapped his hands, as did the people around..though for some there were alternate reasons. "It was a great song. You have a talent for your profession." He climbed to his feet and began to walk again. "Shall we?" he called over his shoulder.
| Anarururu (08:53) | As the crowd clapped, Anarururu Kitsume became aware... It's hard to miss the thunder of many people clapping, "Uhh..." She blushes and gets close to Rhylas, "Where did all the people come from? There wasn't the many in the street when I started... Should I bow... wave... smile... what shall I do..." obviously only have played for small groups of travels on the road before.
| Rhylas (08:55) | The chemist paused. "Just do what comes natural. No reason to be nervous, they already love your music." He said then gave the girl some time to acknowledge her fans.
| Anarururu (08:59) | Anarururu Kitsume thought a moment, after a brief pause, she puts her hands at head level to her sides, waving them, "Hiiiiii!" she says, "Now I must be off, perhaps I'll do an encore later, thank you for watching, and please, come again!" repeats the motion with her hands, "Byeeeee" then turns to follow Rhylas.
| Rhylas (09:02) | Rhylas puts his hand to his face and shakes his head. "She has alot of energy. he though befor shrugging it off and continueing his walk around Figaro. "It doesn't seem to be as hot as it was yesterday." he says aloud, maybe a chance at conversation.
| Anarururu (09:05) | Anarururu Kitsume smiles, "no, it doesn't. I'm always so glad when people enjoy my home-written music... and wonder if I can change the temputure with it." she says, "Maybe I can learn a rain dance... that would make this place cool down." following Rhylas.
| Rhylas (09:08) | What's with that logic.. Rhylas sighs "Looks like I got another one that's going to be a hand full" he mutters quietly to himself. He glances around at the people who mostly all ignore the pairas the wander aimlessly through the town. "...I think we've passed by here already befor.."
| Anarururu (09:11) | Anarururu Kitsume blinks, "Did we? I'm new here, so I dunno..." She looks around, wondering if it looked farmiliar or not, "Do you think the castle is rearanging itself?"
| Rhylas (09:13) | "...Screw it. My feet are tired. I'm heading back to the Inn." The chemist grumbled, turning on his heels. Lucky for him the Inn wasn't that far off and he would soon be able to relax once more in his room.
| Anarururu (09:17) | Anarururu Kitsume quickly follows, keeping a comfortable distance, "You always seem so tense... do you have pent up anger?" She says this softly, to avoid being yelled at, "If you don't want to talk about it, it's okies..."
| Rhylas (09:22) | "I said I'm not angry." They had almost reached the Inn by this time. Anarururu had followed him throughout the whole city and now Rhylas began to wonder just how long she would follow him. About that time the reached the Inn and the chemist sighed. "Finally..relaxation.."
| Anarururu (09:24) | Anarururu Kitsume nods, "Do you have a room... you have been very kind to me, so if you don't, you may share mine." She says, "I have enjoyed your company, and I would love to perform for you whenever you like if I am not preoccupied.."
| Rhylas (09:26) | "Thank you for the offer but I do have a room. Stop by whenever you want. But like I said I dunno how long I will be in this city." Rhylas yawned and began to head into the in and down the hall to his room.
| Anarururu (09:29) | Anarururu Kitsume smiles, "I do hope you stay long enough for me to finish my job." She bows, "I will return to my room, hopefully my dwarf friend, Vetic, will show up and tell me more about the progress of the job he hired me to do. Oh, and as I've mentioned before, I'm the Forky Bard. One day, everyone will that's me... If you don't mind speeding things up, it would be great." she bows again and starts heading to the rooms.
| Fri Jun 27 |
| Sara (20:47) | list
| Zael (20:59) | Zael sighed from within the tank. He was furious about what all happened, and the fact that he remembered his torturous youth did nothing to help. He had an intense urge to see the place he served, his homeland itself, wiped off the face of ivalice. Zael couldnt do anything though, he didnt have the ability to even do anything anyways, so he just sat there, thinking up a solution to his predicament.
| Ralphius (21:16) | Ralphius had almost finnally created the ultimate stink bomb, but it blew up in his face. Covered in soot from head to toe, Ralphius had stumbled out of the back alley behind the drunken dragon inn, a crowd of people rushing around, scared from the sudden explosion of a stinky mess. Ralphius removed his glasses and pulled a handkerchief from his coat pocket, wiping them off as well as his teeth. He then turned north and walked nonchalantly up towards the town square.
| Ralphius (21:21) | He headed over to the fountain, a grin across his face. "I finally am making progress in creating the ultimate stink bomb. Well it made me and the area smelly, but it doesnt linger nearly as long as I would like... what to add to it... what to add to it..." HE mumbled to himself, pacing back and forth in front of the fountain.
| Sara (21:23) | Sara cracked her neck and slipped on her boots. She had just heard a loud explosion, and some strange smell started to seep through into her room. She strapped her sword to her back, and quietly but quickly headed down the steps of the Drunken Dragon Inn, hoping to find the source. As she left, she could smell from the back alley of the inn. Through the crowd of the people rushing around the entrance of the alley, she saw a lone figure heading up towards the town square. "E pad dryd syh ec dra limbned. Desa du tu cusa... aqbmunehk." Quickly, she evaded the people and followed the figure that headed out to town square.
| Ralphius (21:27) | Ralphius pulled out an empty vial as he saw a nearby sewer grate. "Time for me to gether some materials for more experimentation..." He then pulled a long piece of string outta the sack and tied it around the vial, slipping it thru the grating so he can get a sample of the sewage down below...
| Sara (21:31) | Sara hid at a distance, surveying the antics of the man. She could only see him bent over with a string hanging between his legs. Sara suppressed a chuckle, and kept watch. She was unsure of what this man was doing, but she would wait until something bad to happen before she got herself involved.
| Ralphius (21:33) | Ralphius pulled up the sample and noted the sewage had a nice balance of chunks vs smell. He capped off the vial and stuffed it into his coat as he found a bench to set his makeshift lab up upon.
| Sara (21:38) | Sara looked closer, seeing a piece of something he looked at and sniffed before he stuffed it in a vial. Sara stood, trying to get a better view. She was quite exposed, though, and if he happened to turn around, he would have seen her spying. But she was curious. The man was doing something quite strange, and she wanted to know what it was.
| Ralphius (21:43) | started to set up his makeshift lab on a nearby bench, pulling out beakers and vials among other things. He pulled out a strainer and the sample of sewage. He straned it to separate the crap from the fluid and began distilling the essences of both. A rancid stench emanating from the process.

| Sara (21:51) | retched, trying to keep her meager breakfast down from earlier. The stench was horrible, even worse than the stink bomb from earlier. Quietly, she slid forward, her right hand holding the grip of her sword. She got quite close to the man, trying to breathe as little as possible to avoid the stench. Hiding again, she now had a clear view of the man's work bench, trying to see what he was doing.
| Ralphius (21:54) | Ralphius poured the exracts into two separated vials, naming the one extracted from the fluid as liquid crap, and the one extracted from the solid chunks of turd as solid crap. He then took off his left boot, a bare foot covered in a plastic bag, mold covering the inside of it, revealing itself...
| Sara (21:57) | "Fryd dra Hell ec fnuhk fedr drec kio?" Sara looked at the man's foot, which had a plastic bag over it. She couldn't see into it, but knew it couldn't have been good if he was making this horrible stench. Her griped tightened on the handle of her sword.
| Ralphius (22:00) | HE removed the bag from his foot, revealing an really old stinky rotten old mans foot with long crusty toenails. He then pulled out a nail-clipper and clipped of a few toenail, being careful not to make them fall onto anything that may contaminate thier essences, and then proseeded to distill the essences from them after sealing his foot and putting the boot back on.
| Sara (22:07) | stood, and snuck right behind the man who was making this horrid concoction. She released the clamp holding her sword, and pulled it out, and tapped the man with the flat of the blade on the side of the leg. "Sir.... what do?" She said, obviously not well versed in the language she was trying to speak.
| Ralphius (22:11) | Ralphius turns arouns and says, "hmm... Dra cdahlr cyoc Rymmu du oui mycc. I so hate talking in al'bhed, they tend to not appreciate my type of humor." HE then turned back around and put the foot essence in a different vial and then pulled out a large flask and a burner. He set the flask on top of it as he walked over to the fountan and pulled a cup of which he used to get a cup of water. HE returned and said, "Yht bmayca ouihk mycc, bmayca tuhd tecdinp so fung, ed syo cyja mejac uha tyo."
| Sara (22:17) | Sara looked the man over. He was definately a strange looking one. Trashy labcoat, black pants and boots, with very broken glasses, and hardly any hair. Sara smiled at him, though, with his strange persona. "Famm rammu du dra cdahlr. Pid fro yna oui tuehk drec... Mr...?" Sara didn't move her blade, it was still right at the lef of the man, flat end flush up against his thigh.
| Ralphius (22:23) | "E ys Dr. Ralphius Oxymoronious the second. Yht es tuehk drec vun dra paddansahd uv culeado, y dnia lina vun tabnacceuh, syga baubma myikr, yht puus, tabnacceuh ec kuha." HE said as he gently pushed the sword a little outta the way so he can fill the flask with the obtained water. He then mixed all thre essences into the water and the concoction turned a light pastel green in colour. The stench became much much worse so ralphius quickly put a lid on the finished product to seal in its stench and tucked it away in his cloak.
| Sara (22:28) | laughed a bit. "Yht oui drehg dryd cilr y nuddah utun yc drec femm syga baubma myikr? E drehg ed femm syga dras biga! Yht po ymm bycd aqbaneahlac, dryd ec hud yd ymm vih." Sara shook her head, and returned her sword to it's place on her back, the clamp magically slamming shut around the guard.
| Ralphius (22:30) | "As long as it makes me laugh i am happy for your failure to realize that this is to make the children happy, not the adults." Ralphius said in plain common. "HE then put his lab away and ventured back to the drunken dragon and fell asleep in the ally behind it.
| Sara (22:32) | shrugged, and wandered back to her room, quietly flashing her pass to the barmaid so she could return to her room. The stench had not completely disappaited, but compared to the stench that man had made, it wasn't too bad at all.
