Resa (19:36)The elven woman smiled at Rosa as she left the temple. "I shall be back soon.." she said to the priestess as she collected her son in her arms and headed out. A breath of fresh air is just what Resa needed after her long recovery within the temples walls. She had taken ill for quite some time now and only till recently she was under strict bedrest. "Its so good to be out.." she whispered down to her son who wasnt so small anymore. Around the age of two now, he wiggled and squirmed into his mothers grasp, a smile upon his face with smduges of chocolate seen. She held him tight as she giggled at his face and headed towards the town square.
Kailadan (19:44)It had been a long time since Kailadan was seen in Solace on a regular basis. Most rumors claimed that he was somewhere on Mount Ordeals, doing anything from practicing the dark arts in order to try and revive his former mentor, to trying to cast off the bits and pieces of his Dark Knight training in order to ascend to a Paladin like the Cecil of legends. Only the Sword Knight knew the truth, of course. For now, he was back in Solace, sitting on a bench by himself in the Trader's Square. Having already cleaned himself up a bit at the inn, the man looked much like his usual self, although two things were missing; his swords. Instead, a shabby, metal spear was resting across his lap. It was the very same kind that was sold here in Solace.
Resa (19:47)Resa shifted Rileigh within her arms as she entered the square, the colors of the flowers and the chatter of the people bringing a smile to her face. Her blue eyes scanned the area as she took in the view of a man sitting at a nearby bench alone. She tilted her head, chewing on her bottom lip in thought for a few moments. "Rileigh..he sure looks familiar. Lets go find out." she whispered down to her son as she placed him down to let him walk, her hand grasping his as she walked slowly towards the man. Her blue eyes gazing back and forth from her son and the man.
Kailadan (19:53)Sliding a hand down the length of the spear, Kailadan possessed a look of deep thought. It was the look of a man who's future was uncertain; an expression that the man had worn on many different occasions in the past. This one was different, though. He wasn't lost by any means. Kailadan knew the path he intended to take. He just didn't know where he'd end up.
Resa (19:55)The woman approached the bench quietly, her hand stretching out to tap upon his shoulder gently as she waited. Rileigh tugged on his mothers robes as she glances down at him, "One second darling..I think this is.." Resa whispered, her words trailing off as she looked at him. It had been quite a while since she saw anyone and she never would have thought he would be the first she ran into Solace. Her smile grew as she awaited his glance to shift towards her and the little one.
Kailadan (20:00)Pulling his gaze from the spear in order to take in the surrounding area, Kailadan's sapphire eyes almost immediately fell upon Resa's. For just a brief moment, a look of surprise spread across his features, only to be replaced with one of amusement a second later. "Well now... I didn't expect to run into you around here." His voice was soft and gentle, as it always had been, and clearly revealed how pleased he was to run into the Red Mage.
Resa (20:02)Her smile grew much more as she glanced down at her old friend. "Yes, been in the temple for quite some time. I havn't seen you in so long, its quite a surprise for myself as well to see you. How have you been doing?" she asked him, Rileigh moving to hide behind his mother from the strange man. She chuckled softly as she looked down at her son and patted his head, smiling over at Kai.."Im sure you remember him..though he was much smaller last time you saw him." she said.
Kailadan (20:07)"I've been busy, but otherwise fine." Not intending to elaborate unless asked to, Kailadan's attention shifted over to Rileigh. Getting to his feet, the Sword Knight carefully placed the spear on the bench where he was seated before moving closer to Resa. Reaching out to try and give both her and her son a hug at the same time, gently, Kailadan's lips curned upwards into a smile. "So he was. Rileigh, wasn't it? Rileigh Kaiden?"
Resa (20:10)She embraced her old friend and smiled as she felt Rileigh curl up against her protectivly as Kailadan hugged them both. Stepping back and glancing up at the swordknight she brought her son in front of her with a smile. "Yes..Rileigh Kaiden...this is Kailadan, your named after him." Resa said brightly and watched her son's oceanic eyes that matched his mothers stare at the man. "Who.you..?" the child muttered, staring at the man intently as he clung to his mothers leg once again.
Kailadan (20:15)Kailadan's warm smile and sapphire eyes shifted from Resa to the child. "I'm an old friend of your mother's. Think of me as... her protector. Yours, too, little guy." For a moment, Kailadan considered striking a cheesy "tough guy" pose by flexing, but instead he simply picked up the spear on the bench and stood it upright, with the tip in the air, before leaning against it carefully.
Resa (20:18)Resa chuckled softly to herself as she watched Rileigh's eyes grow, glancing up at his mother as he tugged at her robes. "Mother...he has a big spear." he said, a giggle following his words. She glanced at her son and up to Kailadan as she smiled, laughing softly. "Yes..he does. Hes a swordknight and a very good man. Always kept me safe and will you Rileigh Kaiden." she said happily, ruffling her sons hair as he smiled at them both and sit down in the dirt near the bench, playing with a few rocks he produced from his pant's pockets.
Kailadan (20:24)At the mention of being a Sword Knight, Kailadan's free hand reached up to flick the tip of the spear, just a hint of a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Actually, for now, I'm giving that title a rest. I'm going by... Dragon Knight now." It wasn't the first time Kailadan had referred to himself as a Dragon Knight. The title was much more fitting than anybody else truly knew, with the exception of perhaps a single soul.
Resa (20:28)She tilted her head, reminding herself to ask a few questions later as she glanced at her old friend. "Come Rileigh...we must go.." she whispered, smiling at her son as she moved to embrace Kailadan in yet another hug. "We shall meet up again soon, I must be off to the temple to assist Rosa. It was really good seeing you again. You know where to find me now." she said and smiled, leaning over to grasp her son's hand who stood perfectly planted to the ground. "But mother, I dont want to go!" he whined as her blue eyes widened. "Rileigh Kaiden Kirikagawa..come along now and do as your mother says." she said, finally watching him rise but not happy about it. She smiled once more at Kailadan and headed back to the temple..her medicine needing to be taking and no one knew why or what for, only Rosa.
Kailadan (20:37)Returning Resa's hug gently, Kailadan spoke not a word as he watched her and Rileigh wander off to return to their home. A piece of him wanted to follow, but his stubbornness kept him in place. He had learned the hard way, on several occasions, that having feelings for anybody beyond simple friendship always results in the person's demise. It was the main reason why the Dragon Knight had become increasingly distant from the rest of the world once Azelie had passed on. Not wishing to return to the inn just yet, he retook his seat on the bench, once more placing the spear upon his lap, all the while keeping his expression blank. His thoughts were his own, and that's where they needed to stay.
